I know it's cold out there, but this is a crazy way to thaw some pipes out. What about a torpedo heater? Wouldn't this have saved the fire? Hope the poor plumber has insurance.
A Henrico County apartment complex caught fire Friday evening after a plumber used a blowtorch to unfreeze water pipes, according to fire Capt. Daniel Rosenbaum.

Great information on what to do when your home loan is denied.  For this reason you need to go to a Fannie & Freddie Direct shop. Their guidelines are the easiest in the industry.
If you recently got turned down for a mortgage, don't give up hope. These tips could put you back on the home-buying track.

As a Mortgage Lender I see good and bad of real estate. Many times the poor buyer searching for a home just doesn't know what to look for in a Realtor.  In this article by US News they give some practical insights on how to select a Realtor.  Well worth your consideration.
Pass on agents who are family members and those who have never bought or sold in your neighborhood.

Real estate can be a dangerous career. I hope they catch this guy in Henrico quickly!
Police continue to search for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in Glen Allen.

Great housing information.  Home Purchases / Sales are up in Richmond.  This is good for the local economy.   What are your thoughts?
March Home Sales and Prices Spring Higher March home sales rose a significant 33.9% over sales in February. This marks the third largest single month increase since the RE/MAX National Housing Report began in August 2008. The total number of home sales in March was the largest total of any ...

Interesting article on Yahoo about the 3% down loans for home buyers making a come back.  I think it is about time. They do have a catch, what is your thought?
Putting 3 percent down is an option again, but what are the risks associated with it?

not sure if this is a real asset that would be measurable by an appraisal.
A cat in Australia is responsible for not only sealing the deal on the sale of her owners' home but upping the sale price, too. Tiffany the cat belonged to the Perceval family in Glen Iris, a suburb of Melbourne. During a recent home auction, Fran and Mark Perceval were happy to see a top bid of $2,060,000 Australian, which is the equivalent of nearly $1.42 million U.S. When broker Glen Coutinho began negotiations with the bidders, they made an u...

I have worked with The Hensley Real Estate Team on a variety of occasions as the builder's representative on the other side of the sales transaction. I would not hesitate to whole-heartily recommend a person, who is looking to buy or sell a home, call the Hensley team. Each transaction, and there have been several, was a pleasure because of the dedication, knowledge and professionalism of the team. I would unconditionally recommend you call the Hensley Real Estate Team for your next Real Estate purchase or sale.
