We finally got snow (on top of sleet)! After being a bit reluctant, Scout finally decided snow isn't so bad, especially if you eat it.   #arwx   #cavalierkingcharles   #Arkansas

Was able to capture this shot on a relatively quiet part of the busy San Antonio Riverwalk during Fiesta San Antonio.

Research - How to  -

Good morning everyone!  I'm facing a mountain of boxes full of old family photographs that I'd like to digitize.  This will be a very large project as I have photos of my immediate family as well as documents and related items going back several generations.

Does anyone have a recommendation for how to best do this?  I have both a great flatbed scanner and digital camera, so both are feasible to use.  I appreciate your input!!!

I have my mother's album as well as what I have photographed since the 1960s. I use this as a filename: YearMonthDate Event PersonNumber.

This gives me 19750307 birthday David Delgadillo01, 19750307 birthday David Delgadillo02, etc.

All are saved to "decade" folders and "year" subfolders within. Since I have lightroom, that will be my catalog and search software.

This is from a recent birthday trip to San Antonio where I was lucky enough to pass through fields of bluebonnets on my way home.

+Chris Odom For mountains of boxes, use the 80:20 rule. For archival quality (e.g. if you need to make enlarged reprints) use flatbed scanner. Scan the remaining 80% with digital cam, iPhone or iPad (all have at least 5-8 Mpx cameras, and are much handier and faster). See demo of multi-scanning /automatic cropping app I posted today.
