Collaboration is important, no question, we work closely with WPEngine for the same reasons you selected them and more, but our experience suggests that a balanced approach to WordPress security will make a site even more secure. We tell our customers that there are four areas that they should consider, hosting is number one, but hardening, access and maintenance should also be considered. For us, WordPress Security is like a HHAM sandwich 😊.
