My Failures Are My Best Resources...
Introduction
Chris Lang is CTO EM13.com

Em13.com offers 20 years of email deliverability experience, premium dedicated IP addresses, email automation and list segregation and security.

I think of myself as a guy who understood nothing, until there was nothing left to understand... (work in progress)

I am an email marketer operating a double opt in list for 17 years now, I am a programmer, a futurist and at times a writer of fiction. Although not in the marketing space :]

Please feel free to use my Email Whitelist Generator in conjunction to your own opt in only lists. And no, I do not work for spammers. I only advocate opt in only email marketing.

If you are experiencing low email list open rates, delivery nightmares or just plain outright blocking, please contact me immediately at my office number or by email below!

Cheers! = Chris Lang

    Music - Bassoon Major, 1981
I have conceived, owned and operated brick and mortar businesses for over 16 years. In 1983 I took a 700 seat fish house from being in the red, to making a $250,000 profit in one year. In 1990 I bought my first bar after the prior owner had it siezed by the IRS. Nine months later my partners and I had turned a $300,000 profit. In 1992 I opened my own catering opeation--Original Quisine--that turned a profit it's first week in business and alway operated at a 5 firgue profit every week for the next 7 years. In 1999 I bought my first computer and built my first website 4 days later and have been in business online ever since. Celebrating my 15th year making my living online in 2014 and so very glad I have not had a boss or punched a time clock for a living since 1983 :]

Nine to 14 words. Or perhaps 40 to 50 characters.Depending on who you ask, there are different "golden rules" when it comes to an effective subject line length. In this week's chart, we take a look at an analysis of 9,313,885 emails to discover which subject line length is most effective.

Want to get a higher email open rate? Like 8% to 10% higher? Here is my advice and where to start- Gmail!
Now you might think that this is going to be about list segregation, or body copy or another Top 100 subject lines swipe file. Nope, this is about the Gmail Promotions Tab, because: “In 3 tests to 3 separate lists and 3 separate niches, getting your email to the Primary Tab in Gmail raised open rates on average over the course of 30 days of email sent, by 8% to 10%; when, each time any email went to the Primary tab rather than the Gmail Promotion...

I am a tough interview, but Derek Gehl was able to get the best interview ever with me. After a year of testing, we have proof today that getting out of the Gmail Promotions tab returns an 8% to 10% increase in Opens, on average!

I'll add, +Chris Lang, that the content on email deliverability, (getting the damn thing to A. The inbox and B. to the GMAIL primary tab), was in depth. Your detailed information about creating a well-constructed email format was news to me. Given I've been on the net before Win 95 was released it doesn't say anything about my awareness of a critical issue.

If someone is either marketing or pushing a worthy cause they need this information.

Do you think it could be possible to have +Derek Gehl to release a transcript that you could distribute? I think that those that request the transcript, (I'm a reader for long term comphrensive), would be serious followers.

I've been a follower and friend for years. Best presentation yet, my friend.

Do Email Whitelist Instructions Really Work? Or are they a waste of time? Here is the proof, absolutely still the best tool there is when getting to the Inbox-. Screenshot of Clean Food Crush thank you page... So on a thread on Facebook, a friend of mine asked: Anyone have a “best practice” ...

Do YOUR blog posts make me want to read more like this one did?
>>> "When police entered the Seattle apartment of Colorado Rapids player Marco Pappa, they found him with stab wounds, soaked with blood. They found a bloody kitchen knife and Miss Washington USA with blood on her hands."<<<
First 2 lines from a Denver Post article: Plain and simple, that is great copy and storytelling!

Mr. Bowie, the singer and songwriter whose outlandish stage shows and alter egos like Ziggy Stardust helped make him a music and fashion icon, had cancer.

Google ‘Gravely Disappointed’ With California’s New Rules for Self-Driving Cars??? As I have said for years now, you are never going to see this tech arrive any time soon, until the Feds, the states and then the insurance companies have their way with it!

After a year of analyzing Gmail delivery two things are clear:
1) You Can't And Should Not Try To Game The System
2) But You Can Try To NOT Be This Guy Below!
“After a year of managing email lists totaling 10's of Millions of subscribers? Gmail is weighing in at 43% of total list on average; 20% at the minimum (rarely) and as high a 65%- A well orchestrated Gmail strategy without trying to game the system is more important than ever!” – Chris Lang ...

Awhatukee is a lovely place to live, this complex is NOT! As I am a current resident, and awakened constantly but the guy who runs a business out of the garage below my apartment and the guy who starts his Harley with no mufflers outside our bedroom windows every morning at 7 AM, please heed my warning. Management will not respond to numerous requests to do any thing about this. They are far too concerned with taking this complex condo and their personal management bonuses to care about the residents. I am writing a warning to all who consider living here. DON"T DO IT!!! The electricity runs over 300 a month in the summer, there is no where for kids to play, I could go on and on.

Darn good pizza, and unlike the big 3, (pizza hut, dominos, little ceasars) Blackjack has real mozzerella on the darn pie. Also the only place that delivers to us. So we are pretty happy with these guys. Waiting for a big pie to come right now :]

Took Margie to lunch today here, really enjoyed the whole experience, as I always have for 30 years of going to Red Lobsters. Staff as awesome, food was great for the price and Kellie our server as very good. Drinks, salad and two 30 shrimp entrees plus desert can't be beat for a big lunch out when you don't want to journey out of your neighborhood.

I went to this particular ACE to find something that did not exist. It would take time and putting some things together that did not come in a package, and would take some inventiveness to create. After 20 minutes of digging in small parts bins, the ACE guy had me walking out the door with just the parts my project needed. Same experience I have had with ACE all over the United States, glad to have it again. And I did not need a nap after walking miles and talking to 5 different department guys like Home Depot. The ACE guy made me feel pretty good about my visit. Total expendature? $9.16. Happiness working on my project tonight? Priceless!

It is "All You Can Eat Day" Monday at KFC. My wife Margie and I eat here every Monday. It is a tad expensive but all you can eat with a drink is a great deal. See ya there Monday for lunch!
