This is what's new in Android 5.1.1 for Android Wear!

#android   #moto360   #lggwatch   #lggwatchr   #zenwatch   #lgwatchurbane   #androidwear
We are still waiting for the big Android 5.1.1 update to rollout to your favorite Android Wear watches (like the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R), but before that happens we can still show you what to prepare your brains for thanks to the LG Watch Urbane, which is already running it.

So I play this AR game called Ingress. For the uninitiated, you move through the real world to interact with things like art installations and historical sites to try and take or keep ownership for your team. TL;DR - it's a global game of capture the flag between two teams.

When I first started playing, the very first person who interacted with me was an enemy player, named rabidcow. He became my nemesis. Being ranked several levels higher than me, he had almost always had the upper hand.

After a few weeks I leveled the playing field. He and I ranked equally, we became rivals. We both played with our wives, and had a habit of running over the same territory. We bickered. We took turns pissing each other off. Eventually, we came to a sort of unspoken cease-fire agreement, effectively leaving eachother's home turf alone.

It sounds strange, but we had a mutual respect for each other. In this silly game where people go and get all butthurt over small transgressions and go on tyrannical rants when someone dare to be anything other than perfect in their eyes, I saw him as a peer - someone watching over all the people running around being silly and ignoring it, just to have a good time. When there were operations afoot we'd get serious, but otherwise it was all about making friends, having fun, and drawing triangles.

We would run in to each other every now and then. Usually we'd chat for a while. Sometimes we'd stop playing Ingress all together and just talk for an hour, standing in a church parking lot at 1 in the morning.

When word spread that my wife and I were expecting twins, he messaged me saying he had extra supplies, and would be happy to give us anything we needed. Particularly advice, as he and his wife had a set of twins a while back. I thanked him, but never took him up on the offer as I was too busy with work and other things going on in my life.

I was thinking earlier this week I should reach out and say hi. See if he wanted to get that beer and make jokes about having twins.

I found out about an hour ago that he died last night.

I don't even know if there's a point to this post. I had a respected friend who I would call a good friend that I didn't really know all that well. In all honesty, a friendship I should have pursued more than I did. I can't do that now though, and that sucks. Maybe it's don't let opportunities pass you by.

If you want to help his wife out, donations are being taken through google wallet to the address EnlGulfFunding@gmail.com. Please include something about either 'rabidcow' or 'punkinEtr' (his wife) in the details.

Beautiful and Sad. For all that read and play, please remember that on the other side of that Agent name is a real person. Leave everything and everyone you come across better than you found them.

It sucks when they throw 80 layers overnight. It mega sucks when you take down the east and west anchors and all the links before the noon checkpoint and the fields are still up 11 hours later.

Make a field over it. That seemed to help us clear it. ;-)

The world around you is not what it seems. Our future is at stake and you must choose a side. Join my faction in Ingress - a global game of mystery, intrigue and conquest.

I snagged the image about halfway down this page http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/DS-1_Orbital_Battle_Station and just used the "My Design" face.

For folks already using G+ as a sort of blogging platform, this is a great thing.  Very simple right now, just a way to group posts on topic so you can send people there.  I'm sure Google will flesh it out if it catches on.
What do you think about it?

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here: g.co/collections

Create your collections today and share what you love.

If you have questions then also be sure to check out our Help Center content http://goo.gl/zyIVMH; if you still can’t find an answer then please post your question in the Collections subcategory.

Best,
Moritz & Claire

Great taste of south Louisiana at a reasonable price.

The place to buy juice. Only a few shops have the quality of in house e-liquid that you find here and they have recently expanded the selection of premium liquids if you like to splurge once in a while. Throw in a fair selection of equipment from beginner to expert level and friendly folks behind the counter and you'll want to keep coming back.

Great appetizers. Fried pickles and sweet potato fries are especially tasty. Service is top notch (Thanks Kelly!) Burgers and fries are served up quickly. Great bar with all day specials and 4 to 7 happy hour on weekdays.

I've been a long time customer and this shop has grown and improved ever since it opened. Huge selection of custom mixed e-liquid. Just about any flavor you can imagine and you can get nicotine levels from 0 to 24 mg in 2 mg steps. This is quality juice. Don't be fooled by the smaller selection of batteries tanks and mods, they only carry quality gear and if something isn't the best quality or they get too many returns, they drop it. I've been very happy with the gear I have purchased. Don't see something? Ask. They are super knowledgeable and can help get you what you need or maybe show you something better.

Excellent selection of Sushi, Sashimi and Salads and some Japanese favorites like Donburi (meat and veg on rice) and Soba (sauteed noodles with meat) Prices are excellent with all rolls and dishes/salads under $10. Save even more with combos. Teriyaki and Katsu (fried) specials all under $10 and include salad, California roll and miso soup. All ingredients are fresh and the rolls are made fresh right before your eyes. A few tables are available if you wish to eat in, and delivery is available (limited area, $15 minimum.)
