Great article. Once somebody's accustomed to a Windows-esque layout of Linux they can graduate to spending a day really customizing the UI for their personal preference.
 
I've been wanting to switch over to Ubuntu for a long time now, but haven't had the guts. The first time I tried, I royally screwed it up....
Your articles and basic assistance is most appreciated Chris...
 
I'm right there with you. Every few years I'd try Linux at home, fight it for a day, and then settle back into Windows. Ubuntu 12.10 simply works and is enjoyable. Unity apparently has a bad rap, but I think it's a good gateway drug for Windows users.
 
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that has had problems with this.....At some point I will try it again.
I was told that one needs to understand Linux in order to use this program successfully.....
