Governments from around the world are meeting this week to propose new ways on changing the internet, including censorship, banning anonymity, and levys/tolls for cross boarder transmission of websites hosted out of country. Don't let blind and ignorant governments shape the internet. The internet is great because it is open and free. Sign this petition to show your support and continue the battle against the erosion of our freedom.

Based on an interpretation of Article 19, paragraph 3 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, a UN report says access to the internet is a human right. Nonetheless, paragraph 3 makes 'moral grounds' as well as 'national security' a reason for restriction. With such ambiguous wording, I'm sure it won't be too hard for UAE among other ultra-conservative countries to keep censoring and blocking access.
