+Tom Westheimer If you view the album and click on the photos to see them full screen you will notice something like captions at the bottom center of the photos. That text was written in the description field. There's still a long way to go to get the captions we're accustomed to in Picasa, but I am hopeful.

Gene, no - there is no way to "tag" individual people in Google Photos (yet) Google does it automatically. If you click on Albums, then People, you will see all the faces that Google has automatically grouped together - and it does a good job. But, if you see a face that got missed, there is no way for you to manually add it.
It’s easy to get your pictures UPloaded to the cloud – just turn on the Backup and Sync feature of the Google Photos app on your phone. But how do you get them down to your computer? I still want my pictures, at least my best...

+Lisa Austin - Dates are very important in Google Photos. If at all possible, I would clean them up using Picasa on your computer, before uploading to Google Photos. Here's an article: http://picasageeks.com/2015/08/forget-to-set-the-time-on-your-camera-picasa-can-fix-that/
#7: It makes fun creations from your photos and videos. Sometimes it does it automatically without you even asking. Sometimes you want to make some yourself. This fireworks example is an animation. The movies even add music...

+Tom Westheimer Yes, but it's better to change with Picasa beforehand if possible because Picasa changes the actual metadata of the photo itself. Google Photos just changes the dates in its database.

Love to Learn, Love to Teach
Introduction
Due to adventurous parents, my first RV trip was in 1962 from Alaska to Guatemala and back in a truck camper.  Travel is in my blood.  My husband and I now travel much of the time, living in our 37 foot motorhome.  We are both computer geeks, and we tour the country offering computer seminars to fellow travelers at RV rallies, computer clubs, and senior centers. We make our living thru our website, GeeksOnTour.com. It is a membership website where a small annual fee gives access to tutorial videos, Ask the Geeks, and Class Notes for our free weekly web class about smartphones called "What Does This Button Do?"

We are Geeks who Teach how to plan, preserve, and share your life's journey.  That means lots of technology!  Smartphones, Tablets, Computers, Google Maps, Digital photography, and Blogging.  We specialize in the use of Google Photos, Chris teaches people how to get control of the thousands of photos and videos taken with both phones and cameras these days.
Bragging rights
Once had an audience of 750 people to learn about Picasa from us: Geeks on Tour Rock! Also, in 2009, went to Google HQ in Mountain View to deliver a joint webinar on Picasa! Now, Chris is a Top Contributor in the Google Photos forum.

OMG. The best! You pick a new place to take your sweetie to a birthday dinner and you don't know if it will be special enough. Worry no more! This restaurant is quiet, elegant, and the best food ever! The staff was very attentive and helpful. The owner chatted with us and showed photos of Argentina. I would come here again just for the desserts!

Best bread ever! Crusty baguette, warm and delicious inside, served with exquisite specialty cheeses. Did we magically cross the Atlantic and end up in France? No, I think this bread and cheese is better than I've had in France! And the Red Zinfandel is to-die-for.
