Why is Sgt Andrew Tahmooressi still in a Mexican prison?  It is disgraceful that Obama would trade 4 terrorists that are now beheading people, for one American deserter, and not even make a phone call to get this true hero released from prison.  It is just another example of the distain Obama holds for our Military.

You have to be kidding me! Another shootout loss. This time after blowing a 3-1 lead. The Wings haven't lost this many at home since 1988. It was nice to see Franzen score as well as DeKeyser but we absolutely suck in the shootouts. If something doesn't change soon this could be the worst Owings season on 22 years.

Defense will never live up to the Lidstrom days. Quincey is SLOWLY coming around, with not as many brain farts as before. DeKeyser is developing nicely, but that hooking penalty is a huge rookie mistake. Defense will come around, but I'd rather lose scoring 4 or more. Offense cannot only come from Z and Pasha. Franzen now feels what it's like to be hung out to dry.

What is the difference between a bench and a progressive?

A bench can support a family without assistance.

Just noticed that Legwand has played more games than any other Wing forward and at least 20 games more than Franzen, Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Pretty sad.

David Legwand joins the Red Wings at the trade deadline as Detroit sends Patrick Eaves, Calle Jarnkrok and a draft pick to Nashville. Legwand has 566 points in 956 games, all with the Predators. With Zetterberg out he becomes Detroit's leading scorer.

Introduction
I live in the "pinkie" of Michigan, Traverse City.  I'm a former United States Marine but a geek at heart, I am a "Right Winger", whatever that means.  I believe in less government and a strong National defense.  I love my Kids, my Wife, my Bull Mastiff Boomer, Detroit Red Wings Hockey, Detroit Tigers Baseball, Family Guy and Stars Wars (not necessarily in that order).  I am able to recite lines from all six movies and am proud of it.  I saw Episodes IV, V & VI each at least sixty times in the theater.  I love all kinds of music and food from around the world.  Anything else you want to know, just ask 'cause I'm here to make new friends from all over the World.  I don't care if you're new to Google+ or were here since the begining, I will treat everyone the same.  I don't think I'm important enough to ignore people for any reason.  If you circle me and you have your profile filled out I will circle you back asap, if not, get going, that is how everybody decides if you are worth circling or not.  For ideas for circles to put me in try:
Star Wars
Geeks
Politics (I can have a good conversation even if we might not agree politicaly)
Sports
Wine Lovers
Sci Fi
Hockey
Baseball
Foodie
Dog Lovers
Music (listener not maker)

I'm a horrible procrastinator and will always put off today, what I can do tomorrow.  I'm a wise ass cynic and sometimes speak (or type) before I think but I think I'm basically a harmless guy that wants to have fun.

I love this place! I would much rather see a movie here than in one of the chain theaters. They have all the bells and whistles and the seats are amazing. The consessions are very affordable and the staff is always very helpful and friendly.

The best ice cream EVER!!! There is not a week that goes by in the summer that I don't go there even their vanilla is great. My favorite is Butter Pecan, Cherries Moobile and Vanilla with Sea Salt. The kids love to sit outside and watch the cows and look forward to their yearly school field trip to see the whole operations. I would say that anybody that visits Traverse City and doesn't stop at Moomers has missed the best ending a trip could ever have.

I go there every day for doughnuts and at least one a week for bread and I will continue to do so until I die. Their doughnuts are the best in the city and the fresh bread is awesome. There are other bakeries in town with bread as good but no one beats them for doughnuts and cookies. Visit as often as you can!

My favorite pizza place in the area. Lots of specialty pizzas and very good ingredients on the regular ones. Service is fast and everybody that works there is always really nice and funny. The three locations make it very convenient no matter where I am in the area.

Ilove this place. I bring everybody that has never been to Traverse City here to Kiss the Moose. The food is great the decor is better as long as you aren't a tree-hugger that can't stand to see a few dead animals but the service leaves something to be desired. As long as you don't mind waiting a little longer it is a great place to get a burger.

My go to place for quick family meals, the kids love the fact that their food comes in a cardboard '57 Chevy. The adults like all the old 45 records on the walls and the '50 drive-in feel. They even have drive up service, the only thing missing are the rollerskates on the servers. The food is great but the shakes are better, a little pricey but not that much more than Burger King or Mickey D's

I love Slabtown Burgers, I eat there as often as I can. The number of different burgers on the menu make it a new experience every time. Local pop on tap including homemeade root beer The walls are covered with old pictures of Traverse City and even tell you why that area of the city is called Slabtown (The old lumbermill workers used to construct their homes from slabs of wood from the mill). Get there early if you want a seat inside but there is also outdoor seating as well.
