Oculus Rift
Whilst at +The Gadget Show Live I was also able to check out a few demos on +Oculus Rift. This was my highlight of the show, even over Google Glass!

It was only Dev Kit 1 so there was noticeable lag and an very visible pixel grid but it was still incredibly immersive. VR is certainly the future of gaming and there isn't a doubt in my mind that i'll be purchasing a device in the coming year.

I was tempted to put in a pre-order for Dev Kit 2 but it seems best to wait and see how things with Oculus/Facebook and other competitors play out.

If only... I can't believe it's been 11 years!

The tweet:
The one and only Nathan Fillion! Sometimes, he just gets ya with a response like that.  Right in the feels!

Prospect - Sci-Fi Short Film
Prospect is the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl on a toxic alien planet. She and her father hunt for precious materials, aiming to strike it rich. When the father is attacked by a roving bandit, the daughter must take control.

Given its modest budget the film looks great, its limited use of CG makes it much more believable.

Agreed +Traci Loudin it was abrupt and left me wanting more. I'm not sure they could have rounded the story off nicely without making it quite a bit longer.

Google Glass
I was able to try out +Google Glass at +The Gadget Show Live last weekend. It was such a brief encounter that it's difficult to draw any conclusions, nonetheless it was very cool.
I'll be tempted to pick up a release version if the price is right. Photo was snapped of me seconds after putting it on, so it's a bit out of place!

Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Hammer?!
Do NOT hit the back of you phone with a hammer. Just skip to the last minute if you don't want to watch the whole video

"Get some Febreze, or something!"

Just to repeat do NOT do this, it's extremely dangerous and could have gone a lot lot worse!

This was certainly an interesting watch when it was on TV!

The man hanging over the edge is Mustang Wanted ( and the man holding him is James Kingston (
This was taken on Moscow Bridge, before they had to leave due to the police arriving.  The full thing was filmed and shown in a documentary named 'Don't look down' on Channel 4 in the UK, it was certainly interesting to watch!

A very short clip of this can be soon on the trailer on YouTube

The full clip can be seen on the Channel 4 website (probably restricted to the UK?)

Photo Sphere taken from a viewing point at Trosley Country Park, Kent, England.  Probably the best Photo Sphere I've ever taken, even if it does have a few imperfections.

Mystic Dragon by Darek Zabrocki. I wonder what the spread is on this one. You could get a nice return if you bet on the knight.
