Author +Joseph Riippi at his best: lyrical, sad, thought-provoking.

My other football story is one I don’t tell often. This story is about Number One.

Number One died when we were both sixteen years old, the fall starting our junior year. He could have gone pro, maybe. I’ve lived almost an entire second lifetime since he died. Number One was a wide receiver. Varsity playing time before the rest of us. Fast, so fast. I drove him home after practice one day. We had the same favorite band and played their latest record so loud the speakers got weird. On some songs we screamed along, banged our heads. Later that night Number One shot himself.

Pretty glad Paul McCartney is doing all of these collaborations.

Looking forward to seeing more from these sessions. This is good, if simple, stuff.

At the risk of being "that guy" ... that's not by Banksy. It's by Lucille Clerc. [see  http://tinyurl.com/o9tmrvo] ... not that it really matters.

A sense of scale: Wilt Chamberlain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Andre the Giant hanging out on the set of Conan the Destroyer. The three were good friends, and apparently both Chamberlain and Andre the Giant enjoyed picking Schwarzenegger up and moving him around, because if you can do that, it's probably kind of fun.

(Here's a video of the Governator telling some of those stories -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzIu7o5NH1k)

This was a brutal, and necessary, read. I'm completely disgusted, and more than a little ashamed to have attended a public university in Virginia -- even if it wasn't this one.
When a UVA student tried to hold the men who sexually assaulted her accountable, new abuses began.

This right here? This is my jam.

Heard Royksopp and Robyn debut this on tour over the summer, where much of the footage for this video comes from. This was easily the song that stuck with me. Glad to hear the studio did it justice. Going to be on repeat for a long, long time.

Really solid Mexican. The mole chicken and veggie tacos were both great, with generous portions. Great skyline view as well.

The prix fix menu was incredible and a great deal to boot. One of the best meals I have had in Brooklyn.

Solid spot. Good drinks, solid burger, nice atmosphere. Pretty solid tap list and a deep cocktail menu. One of the better bars for the neighborhood.

Amazing little local spit in Buenos Aires. Meat to die for. Got by okay with limited Spanish. Would definitely go back.

The food was good, but small portions and high prices mean that I am probably not going back. It is likely a better experience if you do the tasting menu, but if you're eating a la carte, I would steer clear.
