I’ve finally gotten around to publishing Fezball on the AppStore! Done during nap times and after my son has gone to bed.  Fezball is an updated version of the classic game with 3D graphics, better physics, achievements and global leaderboards. It includes a How To Play tutorial and easy/hard modes.

Work to contain the balls inside your playing field.  Trap them in the smallest areas you can to beat the level.  You need to clear out at least 70% of each level to continue.  Watch out, it gets crazy but you'll get an extra life to work with on each level.

Touch and hold on the screen to initiate a divider, drag in the direction you'd like it to go and when you're ready, let go to start your dividers.  Don't let the balls touch them or you'll lose a life!

Great articles for designers looking to understand asset creation for all devices.  Great focus on both iOS and Android also.

A forked version of the Android Asset Studio with 425 Material Design icons (From the Polymer website)  Find them under the Clipart section when creating icons.

1. Extracted 425 Material Design icons from Google's Project Polymer website
2. Made a fork of +Roman Nurik's Android Asset Studio
3. Modified it to generate Android L Icons

I'm not much of a developer, so if you find any issues or errors with it, please let me know.

Here's the link: http://shreyasachar.github.io/AndroidAssetStudio

Again, Happy designing :)

How many of these do you remember? How many did you waste hours playing at work and/or school? :) Plus five bonus games at the end!

Favorite Tools and Libraries  -

+Derek Brameyer's BetterPickers library.  I was looking for an implementation of the date and time dialogs in Google Calendar and found this.  I'm sure it might be old news to some of you, but anyone looking for a better date/time dialog needs to check it out.  There are a lot of different types if the Google Calendar one isn't your style.

New "Old School" Games  -

My Jezzball remake is now also on iOS, originally on Android only.  I spent many, many hours playing Jezzball when I was younger.  Now I've spent even more hours making one for Android and iOS.

App for visualizing material design color palette

Neat little app from +Guillaume Imbert that displays all the different #materialdesign colors from the Google design spec (goo.gl/SHBy2w).

You can check if you like how a color looks on your device (and other devices), before incorporating into your app. The way a color appears on your computer or device will change based on differences in screen type, saturation level, and calibration. See article for more info: goo.gl/O4cIYR

Google Play link for app download: goo.gl/jGXLN4
It’s open source too: goo.gl/ILA6xk

General Discussion  -

What do you guys think of the Google I/O 2014 design? I like the flatter style, and the cards acting like dialogs on the first launch are nice. The buttons are just text.

The ActionBar is not as thick as on the latest Google+.
