This person was paying Netflix for content and paying Verizon for delivery. What he got wasn't what was promised...so now he has to pay an additional company for  "on time" delivery.

I'm nervous that the current state of affairs in Washington will result in more of this crap. #internetfreedom  is going down hill, and #ISP s like #comcast  and #verizon  are scamming us all. Tell the #FCC  you demand Title II reclassification!

The video tells all
Colin Nederkoorn, a startup CEO living in New York City, was unhappy with his Netflix service. He pays Verizon for FiOS service that promises 75Mbps down. But when he tried to stream video, it was...

Ever question the value (speed/cost) you're getting from your #ISP ? Turns out that someone has crunched the numbers for us. Strange that the three cities at the bottom are all in the US, huh?

Good thing #Comcast  and #TWC  are merging to provide increased competition and lower rates. ...oh, wait.

Yeah. Now if I actually had a choice. :/

I suppose I can elect to move to Seoul.

It's always interesting to follow the dollar. When seeing who's "gifting" to our elected and appointed policy makers, it's no wonder why the Internet is in danger.

They're putting their money where your open Internet is.

Former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis made more from the school in the 2011 season than Brian Kelly, the man who actually coached the Irish that season.

Happy we have Swarbrick now. Hopefully he doesn't make decisions like this.

Al Franken knows what's up. He's been the most vocal elected official on the subject of #internetfreedom . This video is long-winder, but he calls out:
 - Wheeler's proposal for internet governance is ripe with loopholes for fast lanes.
 - YouTube wouldn't exist if we didn't have net neutrality (because the founders wouldn't be able to compete with prices Google Video could pay for bandwidth).
 - The FCC has the power to and should reclassify #ISP s as Title II Telecommunications services
 - #comcast  has said that their merger with #TWC  will make their investors more money, and has not said they won't raise subscription rates.

Kickstarter wants you to care about #netneutrality ! To quote the op-ed in Washington Post:

"Roadblocks would have created enormous logistical and financial hurdles — ones so big they might have shut us down before we got started. But that’s the world that start-ups will be born into if the FCC moves forward with its proposed rules"

"#FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler says that he supports net neutrality, yet at the same time he proposes rules that would create a two-tiered Internet." Kickstarter supports a path " to reclassify #ISPs as utilities under Title II of the Telecommunications Act, which the FCC left open as an option in its draft rules."
Kickstarter was built on the foundation of an open Internet. We — like Twitter, Wikipedia, and everything awesome on the Web — would not exist without it. The more than 65,000 (and counting!) creative ideas that have been brought to life with…

Goodbye bluegrass.
Artificial turf is finally coming to Notre Dame Stadium, putting an end to yearly speculation about what the school would do about its outdated playing surface.

Tear jerker to get your weekend started. This is a really nice juxtaposition to the recent bullying scandal in the NFL. I hope that this experience stays with these players for a long time. Even if they don't replicate it every day, they'll certainly be better influences for their friends for years to come.

I went to Alembic for dinner, specifically to try the bone marrow because of the 7x7 Big Eats list. I was lucky enough to be seated right away, which seemed rare based on how long the line got throughout the night. I ordered the octopus carpaccio (special), bone marrow, and brioche dessert. My friend ordered the prix fixe menu: cold asparagus soup, steak and a dessert (which escapes me right now). Overall the food was very good. My choices for food were more unique and tasted great. The prix fixe menu was good, but nothing you couldn't get somewhere else. The drinks were fantastic. They have a great cocktail menu, and plenty of whiskey choices. Service was slow and at times it seemed like we were forgotten. It took a long time to get a drink or a menu from the rotating pair of servers that seemed to be tending to our table. I had a great time, even with the spotty service. The music and decor were fun. The food and drinks were excellent (if expensive).
