This is the big launch week for my book. If you're even vaguely considering the book, here's my plea. :)

My latest course is about the fundamentals of the digital space. If your website isn't making enough business growth or money for you, and if you're still floundering around a bit in the various social channels, this is my effort to help you at a VERY affordable price.

I love when people smarter than me make me seem even smarter still. +Dustin W. Stout is like that.

Build Your Own Media Empire

It was a great pleasure to both sit and listen to +Chris Brogan's presentation at #SMMW14  and to meet him in person and chat for a while before he spoke.

The guy really knows what he's talking about and you can see that he walks his own talk. I've captured all my notes from his talk here:

http://dustn.tv/smmw14-chris-brogan/ <-- you defintely want to read that!

So much can be said from what Chris talked about, but most importantly to me was the part where he talks about making your audience the hero, not your brand

Great stuff! What stands out most to you?

+Dustin W. Stout  - GREAT recap of +Chris Brogan and the message - nothing better than making your audience the hero/focus... and celebrating their fabulous.  And well, let's face it, it's not difficult to showcase Chris' smarts :)  Dustin, looking forward to having you on the Q1-2014 Recap Show this Saturday.  +Jay Baer - duly noted - thanks!

I really enjoyed being interviewed by +Michael Stelzner . He's such a grown up. This is the first (and best) full interview about my new book, The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth. Learn more about THAT here: http://hbway.com/freaks
Social Media Marketing Podcast 87, in this episode Chris Brogan shares why some freaks are successful in business and how you can follow their lead.

Yeah, a tour would be great as I'm actually near a large population center for the first time in about three years. ;)

I rarely write titles like this. I'm not a big fan of linkbait. But in this case, it's utterly true.

I'm so happy. Thank you for sharing this. I don't know if it's awkward, but I'm wearing the same exact outfit.

The food quality is fine. Just don't do delivery. I've had MULTIPLE orders delivered late by over 30 minutes on the quoted time. Upon calling, you do get an "I'm sorry." You don't get any rebate. You don't get anything besides incompetence. But in a town of a few square miles, who needs to go with the franchise when you can pay for the local guy, who actually will deliver on time. What has me all frosted is that when I called, all they had to do was be honest and tell me the real time my food would arrive. Saying "I'm sorry" is about as useful as it is in all other areas of life.

China Star is your average take out Chinese restaurant. There's no shame in that. It's perfectly serviceable, clean, good food. It's not amazing food. It's not mind-blowing food. It's delicious, well-made, by people who have great service in mind, and delivered by people who know where they're going (which matters). If you like typical American versions of Chinese food, this place works well.

It's not the rooms, it's the people. The rooms are okay, but the people here are what makes it matter most.

It's clean. The staff were nice. There are tons of rooms. It's very near the beach. If your goal is to enjoy the beach, this would be a perfect hotel. There are complementary bikes, which is cool enough. The pools and hot tub look nice. If you were going to make a vacation spot home base, this probably works. I currently hear my neighbors through the walls, like every word they're saying. The decor is, er, I think it's aiming for kitschy, but it's coming off to me as strange and sparse, like your crazy aunt decorated the room. There's technically an AC unit in the wall, but it's about the size of my cell phone. Luckily, it's January, so I won't complain about it. My TV didn't turn on, but I don't watch a lot of TV, so that's okay. Besides, I can now hear my neighbor's TV. They're watching Glee. So, you know. It's up to you. I'm surprised by all the 5 star ratings. Maybe it's from people who are used to Super 8 or something. I don't think it's expensive (at least not via Priceline, it wasn't). I just think it's ... quirky.
