So the expression "bananas make you happy, because they remind you to smile" actually makes a bit of sense ;)

A very good article about how wrong people are when they think our 'Sinterklaas' (kind of Santa: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas) is a racist celebration:
https://decorrespondent.nl/233/wat-we-niet-zien/474160126-aefc41aa

Conclusion: Dutch people should be proud that they don't see the 'black servants' of Sinterklaas as strange. It actually shows that we have learned quite well to see past the color of ones skin.

BTW: Sinterklaas is originally from Turkey, so essentially we are heralding and thanking a Turkish person each year. That can't be racism :)

I was in the main office of Landal GreenParks (http://www.landal.nl/) the other day, where I encountered a nice combination of a rubiks cube and an image puzzle. Too bad they didn't have any to spare :(
This globe version looks interesting as well :)

I had a question regarding a complex inheritance scenario. Finding the relevant laws was simple enough, interpreting the full consequences however is something else. There was one choice I could make that did not seem to make much of a difference and I was not sure what consequences could come from the options. After a call and an email I got my first response which contained mostly the same excerpts from the law which I already found myself, which I still was not able to interpret fully. A second mail however explained very well in laymen's terms that indeed the options would yield equal results, so now I can make my decision in confidence. I intend to donate my €15,- deposit as it was well worth it!
