"This makes marketing an engineering discipline.  We have to get good at it, or we will fail ourselves, our stakeholders, our community, and the wider world.

More OSS marketing like Heartbleed, please."

My biggest hesitation in seeing this film is that it's an adaptation of source material I am not familiar with [where do I surrender my nerd card?].

As to the larger question of voting with my dollars: I don't think that the withdrawal of monies by a minority of conscientious consumers will compete with the interests and priorities of corporations. Yes, we may feel better for not eating Chick-fil-A, but our absence does not translate to changing CEOs' long-held beliefs based on religion, fear, etc.

You really just need to look at some of those covers to know all that you need to know ...

When I visited London in the mid 90's, I was surprised by how different the phone boxes were from I imagined they would be. Specifically, the photocopied flyers of naked women on neon paper and the overpowering smell of urine.

Phone boxes once epitomised telecommunications for the masses. Now they are in sharp decline. Only 3% of Britons used one to make a phone call in the past month. So they serve other functions, some sleazy: as pinboards for prostitutes, as impromptu urinals or as drug-dealers’ dens. But spare street fixtures with electricity and phone connections can have more wholesome uses http://econ.st/13SGWDM

I'm disappointed that Dr. Newman spent so much time on the attack and not much time addressing this fact: "This figure [8,700] is larger than the total number of computer science master’s degrees granted in 2009-10 in the United States".

Why not offer more solutions for increasing access to high-level computer science education, and spend less time attacking those attempting to address this knowledge gap?

I made an interactive fiction game based on the brilliant comic strip, "Get Your War On" using Twine.

Apologies to creator David Rees
It's that blasted CNN and FOX News and Home Shopping Network, trying to confuse, scare, and pacify their viewers. The cognitive dissonance, though, is too much for Johnson to handle. You realize he's waiting for you to reply. \n\nCool, calm, collected.\n\nYou have to be [[reasonable]], right?

'Nuff said.
On the letters-to-the-editor page of 1964's Avengers #12, Stan Lee and Don Heck received a correspondence from future A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin.

The missus and I were in need of a vehicle quickly, and Trey was very helpful in securing something economical for us. He stayed well after closing to work with our finances and even helped detail our vehicle because nearly everyone else had gone home. Everyone else at the dealership was also top notch, especially in the financing department. Overall, a very good experience.
