Yes. This is exactly what I think whenever I hear someone screaming "free speech."

It's a Wendy's, so there aren't going to be a lot of huge surprises here. It's your typical fast food fare although I remember coming here as a kid when they used to have a salad and hot food bar in the one corner before the chain decided to stop doing that. It's pretty well located and easy to get to from Hamilton Blvd. And I actually stumbled upon coming here on my last visit because I had forgotten my wallet when I left the house and this location takes mobile payments so I could just tap my phone to pay at the counter.

This is a simply delightful little shop. I have a tradition of getting family food from Austin every year for Christmas, and this was my choice for last year. Their website is very helpful to gauge the selection they have but browsing the store is also fun to do. I ordered ahead online and things were prepared quickly for me. I found their shipping prices to be a little too steep for me so I opted to pick things up in the store and ship them myself, so it's nice that they have that in-store option.

As a resident of Austin, the original home of the Alamo Drafthouse, I had to check out the Kansas City franchise location when I was visiting town. First off, the lobby is beautiful. I love the grand space of it all with famous movie quotes on the floor and walls. The only downside of the lobby is that it's connected to a bar that's not part of the theater so there was an odd karaoke night happening that killed the mood a little. The food was a bit different from what I'm used to in Austin. It almost felt a little too "chain" and more brought-in than everything being made in house. But that could be just an opinion from someone who's so spoiled by the great Austin experience at the Drafthouse.

With gadgets, games, sports equipment, and more, it's nice to see that this was more than your typical discount-style store with a greater variety than what I expected. I found their setup to be very clean and clear, making things easy to find and it was a breeze to both wander around to browse their selection but also target sections for specific needs I had.

I was worried a bit about having to drop off my rental car at the Kansas City Airport because there weren't any options for a refuel I could see nearby, or at least ones that were open for the time I needed to be at the airport. I was happily surprised to see that the facility right down the road from the rental car return actually had decent prices for gas, and was easy to get in and out of quickly before my flight.

You might think "Does downtown Austin need another sub shop sandwiched between Quiznos, Jimmy John's, and Subway?" I've made a few visits to Planet Sub and the answer is yes. You'll pay a little more at Planet Sub and wait a little longer, but oh man is it worth it. The time they take to toast the sandwiches properly really pays off because the whole thing gets the perfect blend of hot meat, melty cheese, and bread that is nicely crisp on the outside but still chewy through out. And I'm really impressed with the breadth of their menu. So many different meats and cheeses that you just don't find at your typical chain. And 9 creative vegetarian options if your'e into that sort of thing.

I came here with family for lunch so we had a mixed group of adults and smaller kids. It was nice that they had good options here to keep both sets happy with grown up sandwiches and salads for the grownups and traditional ham and cheese and PB&J for the children. But all made with good bread and quality ingredients. I have been to a bunch of Panera locations that are jam packed and overstuffed with patrons but this one was pretty good with it not being overly busy during a regular lunchtime.
