Oh +Officeworks! Seriously???

FFS, if you're going to sell Chromebooks, get your facts right. Telling people that you can install Microsoft Office on a Chromebook is just asking for a whole lot of pissed off customers who buy one only to realise it's not what you told them it was.

I LOVE my Chromebook, and I much prefer it to a conventional OS. I'd love to see more people trying Chromebooks as their main computer because, honestly, I think they are a perfect choice for the the vast majority of the computer using public.

But please don't mislead folk into thinking they re something they are not! Repeat after me, you can't install Microsoft Office* on a Chromebook.

*That said, you CAN run Word, Excel, PowerPoint on a Chromebook using the Microsoft web apps through the Chrome Web Store, and you will soon be able to run the Word, Excel and PowerPoint Android Apps on a Chromebook too. So, yay, good news if that's what you want to do. But it is NOT what most people think of when they ask "can I install Office on a Chromebook"!

I purchased Chromebooks for my parents. They love it. They live off of apps like YouTube, docs and such. They like the simplicity and battery life.

Over the next few months I'm going to be exploring the millennial educator and what they want and need from school districts. The US is in a nation wide teacher shortage so knowing how to hire, onboard, and retain the millennial educator is going to become even more important to keep your school district attracting the best educators out there.
A new survey released from ADP looks at what millennials (age 18-35) and right behind them “Generation Z” (for lack of a better name at the moment), want from their job and employers. Quartz had a nice write up of the research and I was drawn to this both in the report and in the write up.

Amen to this.... I couldn't agree more...
Chromebooks are good. Very good. If you're looking to replace a laptop then you really should take a look at them.

Here's a blast from the past. A few of my friends were in this band, the Hungry Is, back in the 80s...

Sadly, while the topic of the song is pointing out the injustices we've made to our indigenous people here in Australia, nearly 30 years on, not nearly enough has changed.

Cool song though bro...
