This report is exactly what I expected from Apprentice winner Mark Wright & his so called "SEO" agency Climb Online - they haven't got a clue! At least not from a techical build perspective, breaking many of the SEO 101 rules.

Ok so there are no rules of exact science when it comes to search marketing but there are principles which are widely regarded as influential ranking signals, many of which Mr Wright is seemingly overlooking.

Is Climb Online worth the risk? You can make your own mind up but based on the launch of their own site I'd avoid them at all costs.

As some of you know back in December Mark E Wright won the UK Apprentice. As the winner he was given £250k to create an Online Digital Marketing agency. Part of his unique value proposition was that he would revolutionize the SEO and Online Marketing Industry. Given his only real experience with SEO was selling …

It's simply pointing out obvious flaws in the architecture of the website.

For someone who's boasting to change the search marketing industry with revolutionary SEO services Mark Wright hasn't covered architectural basics on his own company website; so how will he do it for his clients?

I don't doubt the story will deepen as more examples of his approach to SEO are revealed.

Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it!

Did you know that user engagement metrics can now influence search engine rankings? Most savvy search marketers will already be aware of this already but unsurprisingly many business owners and webmasters are blissfully unaware.

These types of UX metrics are becoming more and more important. Find out why and discover how you can measure these metrics.

Google Launching "Ranking Adjustment" for Doorway Pages

According to the Google webspam team they'll soon be deploying a "ranking adjustment" to better address doorway pages. According to Google:

"Sites with large and well-established doorway campaigns might see a broad impact from this change."

Google, seriously, it's time to practice what you preach.

Google Domains is currently ranked organically at position 5 in a UK search for "domain registrar" despite the #domain registration service being currently unavailable in the UK.

What use is that to anyone seeking a UK domain #registrar? Although relevant in terms of subject matter it currently serves no purpose to the UK market thus making for a poor user experience.

And it's not like #Google don't know it's a service currently unavailable in the UK yet they still allow it to rank.

Poor form Google, poor form indeed! :-P

Eeek! Yoast plugin vulnerability identified. Make sure you update ASAP!

WordPress SEO by Yoast Plugin Vulnerability

+Yoast quickly responded, providing a fix for both free and premium versions of the plugin.

WordPress issued a forced automatic update; but for anyone using the plugin we strongly recommend you read the following post and ensure your plugin is adequately updated.
