Sometimes it's good to stop and appreciate a world that never stands still.

Hi, I just released a tiny wrapper for filesaver.js ( https://github.com/eligrey/FileSaver.js ). This allows in-memory generated text files to be downloaded from client side GWT without requiring a servlet.

Github:

https://github.com/ainsley/FileSaverJsGwt

It's a tiny wrapper, but it may come in useful. A sample project is also included.

Also - thanks to Colin Alworth for helping me with script injection issues via the gitter chat group.

Cool. The problem we had with this is that we could not save as PDF. We d had to combine it with JsPDF. At the end we went with a Flash based solution, wich provided advanced PDF and excel capabilities.

Java 7 is end of life coming up later this week (no more fixes).

And I still feel dirty for not supporting Java 5 any more.

Maybe you haven't noticed, but just about every scene in every blockbuster movie has the same color scheme.

I miss Oracle. I used to spend hours trawling through the backwaters.

Inevitability comes knocking.
The next step in the evolution of JavaScript and asm.js is to do away with both of them.

+Wayne Dyck I would speculate yes - eventually. However, as is usual, it may take many years for WA to stabilise and gain full cross browser support.

Excellent news. *

One of the reasons some people didn't like Windows 8 was that it seemed to include two versions of Windows: Live Tiles and the desktop, with touch-friend

The beginning of the end of the "web" (css/dom/html/html5/js/etc..) as the most popular OS-independent "application" platform?

#androideverywhere
"App Runtime for Chrome" takes a big step toward making Android a universal binary.
