When I borrowed the Primrose Bakery Christmas book out of the library a few weeks ago, I bookmarked several of the recipes. The one for blueberry cupcakes caught my eye, mostly for the fabulous coloured icing. It’s a rare occasion for me to use food dyes,…
A tasty fruity cupcake with a tart but creamy topping. The colour is quite striking and the cakes being sugar free are relatively low in calories.

A healthy and delicious mid-week meal - suitable for vegans. #veganrecipe   #healthyfood   #vegetarian
A low carbohydrate alternative to rice or couscous, cauliflower works particularly well with curries. The jerk curry is simple and quick to make as well as being quite delicious.

I've only ever read one Kate Atkinson novel and really ought to read some more as I did enjoy it. My grandmother's mother died of Spanish flu just after she was born which obviously had rather a big impact on her life.

It's heartbreaking that so many, many people, believing themselves finally safe from the war, were struck down so swiftly by the flu virus. Kate Atkinson really brought that home to me in Life After Life.

Which of her books have you read? Would you recommend it?

Spelt cocoa breads.
If there was one crop other than lemons I wish we could grow easily in the UK, it would be avocados. I would have an orchard full of them. Not only are they buttery and delicious, but they a...

Every so often I like to bring you a taster of some of the chocolate that has passed through Tin and Thyme HQ. You can find plenty of additional chocolate review posts if you fancy seeing a few more unusual and artisan confections.

We’re just about to set off on a week’s trip to North Wales where we’ll be staying with friends. It’s been a long time since we had a holiday and it’s much needed; I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve not been to this particular part of Wales before,…
A quick to make spongy banana cake flavoured with rum soaked raisins. This combined with yoghurt and rapeseed oil made it particularly flavoursome.

Introduction
Formerly blogging at Chocolate Log Blog, now at Tin and Thyme. I'm passionate about real food, local food and chocolate. I am a vegetarian cook, baker, recipe developer, reviewer and writer.

Although chocolate is no longer the main focus of my blog, it still features regularly. I cook, review and write about pretty much any angle of food and drink as long as it's vegetarian. There is a particulary emphasis on my home county of Cornwall and the South West in general.
