Easy to make, but so useful.

Fruit vinegars make a wonderful addition to many dishes. Vinegar captures the essence of the fruit beautifully reminding us of the season in which it was harvested. This blackcurrant vinegar gives a flavoursome tang to sauces, salads and desserts. A…

There is a massive amount of chocolate in this biscuit cake ;-)

Last year I asked CT what he would like for his birthday. A trifle was his response. OK. I duly made a trifle and very nice it was too, but this year I didn’t ask. I know he’s very fond of tiffin, otherwise known as biscuit cake or refrigerator cake. If…
A rich and indulgent chocolate tiffin, also known as biscuit cake or fridge cake. Studded with coconut and flavoured with coconut liqueur, this is a not overly sweet adult version of a children's classic.

Once upon a time, many years ago, back in the 1960s in fact, or possibly the 1970s, reports are a bit vague, the Mayor stopped handing out the Liskeard Bun. This was an annual event when the newly invested mayor of Liskeard would hand out buns wrapped in…
A fruity yeasted bun, lightly spiced with saffron. Delicious with butter, either warm from the oven, cold or toasted.

Making your own bread can be infinitely satisfying and I have been doing it since I was a teenager. I’ve not been hugely creative and tend to stick to a tried and tested recipe and until I got my KitchenAid earlier this year, I’d never used a machine…
A substantial wholesome loaf, which is easy to make and quite delicious with malty smoky notes. Makes great toast.

Before tonight's episode of #GGBO  airs, I'd better get this Black Forest Gateau out ;-) #Cherries   #ChocolateCake
An indulgent but delicious cake featuring chocolate and cherries with a light chilli kick to it. Despite the cream filling and topping, it is a light, flavoursome, not too sweet and delightfully squidgy bake. It makes an excellent dessert as well as a party showpiece.

It’s been a while since I showcased some of the products that have made it into the Tin and Thyme kitchen in recent weeks. This post is all about the gadgets.

After all that Black Forest Gateau, something healthy was definitely in order. It was time to use one of the mangos that CT had picked up at a knock down price.
A vibrant orange kefir smoothie, which is not only tasty but is full of good things that will set you up well for the day and keep you going until lunchtime.

Introduction
Formerly blogging at Chocolate Log Blog, now at Tin and Thyme. I'm passionate about real food, local food and chocolate. I am a vegetarian cook, baker, recipe developer, reviewer and writer.

Although chocolate is no longer the main focus of my blog, it still features regularly. I cook, review and write about pretty much any angle of food and drink as long as it's vegetarian. There is a particulary emphasis on my home county of Cornwall and the South West in general.
