In the states, there is ISIS. EnStream is the same thing but to another extent.

Learned about this at work today. After cards are enrolled, no passwords required. Looks like a nice frictionless way to do payments via phone. Only catch is the NFC SIM, on selected cell carriers, and for TD Visa or PC MasterCard only. Considering that TD also owns MBNA, this has a lot of potential to be the thing for Canadians.
Now you can get reward points and pay with your phone wherever <i>Visa* payWave</i> or <i>MasterCard PayPass™</i> is available. Download it today.

Top apps in Windows Store - 3/8 of them are YouTube video downloading applications clearly against YouTube TOS. I thought all apps get approved by Microsoft. This is a big F-U to Google.

One key development in YouTube's new 'Music Key' features is how it directs viewers to the original music content creators. There is way too much music that neglects to give appropriate credit. I'm glad Google is taking the initiative to make this as painless as possible for the end-users

Google today released security testing tool Firing Range, a Java application that contains a wide range of XSS and a few other web vulnerabilities. A deployed version is available on Google App Engine and since the tool is open source you can check out the code on GitHub.

TIL about EnStream - the mobile carrier cash grab against banks from Rogers, Bell and Telus in forcing their hand in mobile payments.

Chromebooks for Linux on Haswell are awesome on latest 3.17 kernel out of the box. Only thing that is iffy is the suspend on my C720, which is fixable without too too much work...

Desire 820: Great spces for a mid-range phone, but doubting HTC's commitment to software update as usual.

The main thing that seems troubling from this review is that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MORE power compared to the 400 series, it seems... 4-5 hours of screen-on time is nothing impressive, even with the larger display.

At the end of the day, the OnePlusOne is turning out to be quite the mid-range killer phone.

Missed this video last month, but we are getting to the point of mobile devices being powerful enough to do things like this. Core M/Broadwell can't arrive quickly enough.
