No matter how late I sleep, I wake up early. I am a morning person; nothing refreshes me like the early hours of the morning. During my weekend in Carmel, I woke up early as usual and loved how the white curtain added an orange glow to the morning light. I wrapped myself with a cozy blanket, made a cup of coffee and stepped out into the balcony. Ahh, the fresh morning air, eye soothing greenery, and the ocean emerged afar under the golden shimmer of the rising sun. A white bird greeted me “good morning”. I savored all the saintly scenes.

An excerpt from my latest blog post - My moments with General Sherman – The largest tree on earth!
.
When I tried taking a photograph of this tree, I saw there was a long queue of tourists all waiting to capture their moments with General Sherman and take them back home. I too joined the queue and waited for my turn. While waiting in the queue my eyes followed the tree upwards. I saw the leaves above were shimmering in the afternoon light and rustling while the trunk of the tree stood silently. A juxtaposition of silence and expression, both in perfect harmony.

I experienced a different kind of silence that day. It was the fertile silence of awareness, pasturing the soul.

I feel a flower is the sweetest messenger of nature. Being a parent to a two and a half-year-old girl, I feel, spending some time amidst flowers is possibly one of the best gifts I could give to my daughter. JD house which is a part of @bluedoorgrouphotel. in Mendocino fulfilled my wish. My daughter spent a beautiful day amidst flowers inside the garden in JD house.

I loved seeing my daughter running from one flower to another like a butterfly. In this age when competition with one another is the norm, and perhaps she cannot be immune forever; but for now, let the flowers teach her otherwise. Flowers don’t compete with each other, they just bloom and spread their fragrance.
