Too often we are given ideas about what a perfect body should look like. It's important to remember that perfection is an illusion. Love the skin you're in.

The "I don't need feminism" and "I'm not a feminist" movements make me want to scream at the top of my lungs. Mark Ruffalo, on the other hand, makes me wish these women were more like him.

"You’re insulting every woman who was forcibly restrained in a jail cell with a feeding tube down her throat for your right to vote, less than 100 years ago.

You’re degrading every woman who has accessed a rape crisis centre, which wouldn’t exist without the feminist movement.
You’re undermining every woman who fought to make marital rape a crime (it was legal until 1993).

You’re spitting on the legacy of every woman who fought for women to be allowed to own property (1848). For the abolition of slavery and the rise of the labor union. For the right to divorce. For women to be allowed to have access to birth control (Comstock laws). For middle and upper class women to be allowed to work outside the home (poor women have always worked outside the home). To make domestic violence a crime in the US (It is very much legal in many parts of the world). To make workplace sexual harassment a crime.

In short, you know not what you speak of. You reap the rewards of these women’s sacrifices every day of your life. When you grin with your cutsey sign about how you’re not a feminist, you ignorantly spit on the sacred struggle of the past 200 years. You bite the hand that has fed you freedom, safety, and a voice.

In short, kiss my ass, you ignorant little jerks.”

Mark Ruffalo recently took on the ‘I am not a feminist' movement.

A few months ago I polled my FB and IG friends about what makes a shitty ex. Here are the top 7 signs you're a shitty ex on The Indie Chicks. (feel free to send this to an ex to drop a few hints)
You know that shitty ex everyone hates? Have you ever considered the possibility that it could be you? Here, some signs to tell how shitty of an ex you are.

If you haven’t heard, the gist of the controversy is that Cosmo used photographic examples and labeled each trend that needed to die with R.I.P., and the trend that’s replacing it with, “Hello Gorgeous.” But...

1/5 of the of the trends that need to die weren’t women of color
and
ALL 21 of the replacing trends weren’t white women (with the exception of Nicole Ritchie who is bi-racial).

"Raise your hand if you’ve never stolen anything or broken anyone’s heart; if you’ve never had feelings you weren’t supposed to have and have never strayed from values you were raised with. Raise your hand if the line between right and wrong is always bold and well defined in your day-to-day life and every decision you make is easy, in either black or white."
Life isn't black and white, it's drowned in shades of gray. Are your choices your own or are they reliant on what society has predefined as right and wrong?

The truth is that a thousand spoons do you no good when all you need is a knife. You have to ask yourself if the friendship is benefiting you in any way and if it’s hurting you more than it’s bringing you joy. Remember that friendships are supposed to be rich experiences that make you happier and help you grow into the person you’ve always wanted to be.
Friendships can change. One minute you're besties, the next you want throw them off of a cliff. Here are five types of friends who suck the life out of you.

It’s the guys who aren’t letting you be free. You’re afraid of the bad things they’ll say about you if they found out about your sexual appetite. They’ll say you’re dirty, sloppy seconds, and that you’re a whore. They’ll say you sleep around to get guys to like you. They’ll judge the cleavage in your selfie and say you just do it for attention and have no self-respect. They’ll tell a room about you before you even walk in.
Slut Shaming. How big of a role do men play? When it comes down to it, who's responsible for all the negativity surrounding a woman's sexual freedom?

"Your unconventional perspective is captivating.

Like a month hypnotized towards a fiery light, a woman’s independence is both mesmerizing and lethal at the same time. A man who dates an independent woman cannot help but feel a small swipe at his manhood when his chivalry is constantly tested. “Why wont she let me pay for this?” “Why won’t she let me just help her?” While your stubborn independence may be frustrating at times, it’s still an intriguing quality that should be commended: It shows determination. You’re driven to have control over your life, and, girl, that’s something to be applauded."
A woman who is hard work is exactly the woman you should be dating, because believe me, she's worth it. Don't you agree?

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Stop craving a life that isn’t yours. Stop crying yourself to sleep. You, I’m talking to you. Stop waiting to be discovered; stop waiting for someone to pick you out of the meaningless crowd to change your life. It’s your life, if you want something, get your ass up and go get it—no one is going to do it for you.
Stop waiting for something to happen. It's your life, if you want something, get your ass up and go get it yourself - no one is going to do it for you.

"It is inevitable that one day in the future, you’re going to wake up and maybe hate yourself a little. You’re going to leave your house in your pajamas, throw your hair up in a messy bun, and hurl mental hate darts at the the girl standing behind you at Starbucks because why does she get to look fantastic on Monday mornings?"
A lesson of tough love. YOU have to put in the effort, determination and work to succeed in life. You're a bad ass and you can do it.

Introduction
Blogger, entrepreneur, author, wife and mommy.

Molding the future into what I want it to become. In-your-face type of leader who listens, engages, and genuinely cares about those are me. A rebellious visionary.

CEO, CoFounder and Editor of TheIndieChicks.com.  In May 2012, we launched this fantastic online magazine/blog for women craving to be inspired. Our emphasis is on encouraging women to follow their dreams, regardless of where they are in their lives. Women empowerment, entrepreneurship, and blogging are only a few of the topics we cover, and we've begun showcasing artists, musicians, and successful badass women making their dreams come true.

I'm also a self-taught graphic designer, learning web design and growing my portfolio alongside my husband. I've fallen in love with it all, and my ultimate goal is to design fully functional Wordpress themes for bloggers. We currently build child themes, design blogs and social media branding graphics such as Twitter backgrounds and Facebook Timeline covers. We have also added Google + Cover photos to the mix. :) Talk about ambitious!

An entrepreneur. Everything I have accomplished, I have done on my own. I was never able to finish college so I am completely self taught in a lot of what currently defines me. I am paving my own path, building my own future and learning what I need to know in order to become happy and successful. What have you done today?

I was introduced to the blogosphere when I started blogging about sex, dating and relationship advice in my generally inherent brutally honest tone.

So of course, I wrote a book. I am the author of The 9 Mirages of Love - an extremely brutally honest book on how to stop chasing what doesn't exist in your relationships.

So that's me in a nutshell. I'm happy, sarcastic, ambitious, and despite being down to earth and realistic, I'm a dreamer. I love to write, I'm addicted to TV shows, and I plan on making my next book a novel. BOOM!

Bragging rights
I have an incredible husband, a wonderful little son, and I'm surrounded by amazing, interesting people.
