As a proponent of Stregthsfinder I found this video very interesting.  Not only did it demostrate how +Robert Scoble uses his strengths in his role but it was fascinating to hear how Rackspace has a Strengths-based approach as part of its culture because the CEO is such a big fan of it.
Identifying my own top 5 strengths a few years ago was eye-opening and has aided me in more self-awareness.

Microsoft just became the Mayor of Foursquare, thanks to a $15 million (£9.2 million) investment in the social check-in service.
Microsoft has also signed a multi-year contract to license Foursquare data for its Windows Phone operating system and Bing search engine.
"So, in the near future, when you use Microsoft devices powered by the Windows and Windows Phone operating systems and products like Bing, places will be enhanced by Foursquare — to provide contextually aware experiences and the best recommendations of any service in the world," Foursquare said.

Happy Chinese New Year 2014: The Year of the Horse

Chinese New Year is an important traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the first day of the year of the Chinese calendar. In China, it is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name.

Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally run from Chinese New Year's Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar. Because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is often referred to as the "Lunar New Year".

The source of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Traditionally, the festival was a time to honor deities as well as ancestors. Chinese New Year is celebrated in countries and territories with significant Chinese populations, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, and also in Chinatowns elsewhere.

Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese and has had influence on the lunar new year celebrations of its geographic neighbors.

I'm an observer, early adopter and advocate of using technology for strategic advantage. A lifelong learner who is happy to share.
I love technology and am passionate about helping people and businesses succeed through it's strategic implementation. What drives this passion is seeing the opportunity technology always offers but not seeing businesses taking advantage of these so I want to help make thing happen.  I have a particular focus on Google Apps for Business and Google+ and I am Apple fan.

I am fortunate to have been a contributor to Guy Kawasaki's great book about Google+ called What the Plus! which was an honour.  I highly recommend this book.

Social Media is something I've been interested in from the early days and I've been an early adopter of Facebook, Twitter, FriendFeed and many others and have been using Google+ since day 3. My mission is to get others to realise how good it is and find great ways to make use ot it for business and pleasure and I am proud to have influenced many people I know to use Google+ and who enjoy it.
My other interests include Public Speaking and I've helped set up and run several Toastmasters community and corporate clubs.  I cannot recommend this programme highly enough no matter who you are to develop your communication and leadership skills.  These are life skills that we all need to learn and get better at all the time.
Before I knew who Matt Cutts was I got inspired by his TED talk on 30 day challenges and have since gone on to do several myself.  I plan to continue these so you may see my posting from time to time about how I am getting on and what my latest challenge is.

I was visting the area from the UK and came across this online so decided to give it a try. I noticed on Yelp that people had rated the food highly but were not so impressed with the service. My experience was very different. The food was very good (not as good as what I'm used to in the UK but that isn't a fair comparison) and I found the service excellent. My server, Amanda, offered me the option of sitting wherever I wanted to I sat where I could see the TV screen. They even gave me the remote control so I could watch what I wanted. The restaraunt also has free WiFi so this is something I really liked. I enjoyed the meal and all throughout they looked after me and ensured I was happy with everything so I cannot fault their service at all. At the end of the meal a lady who I assume was the Manager also came over to ask me if everything was OK which was a nice touch. I've recommended this place to a few of my colleagues who live and work in MA and RI who enjoy Indian food and I will certainly be going back there again next time I back in the area.

I have been going to The Regency Club for about 15 years and have seen it grow from being just a pub to being a place which is now revered for it's excellent food. In fact I didn't realise how good it was until I moved away and tried a few other places that were more local to me and that's when I knew that the quality and taste of the food is second-to-none. The place is is usually packed with people eating on almost every day of the week and it's particularly busy at the weekends such is it's popularity and this unfortunately means that people have to wait a while to get a table and those eating my feel rushed. But this is necessary because it's so popular and so many people want to eat there and I think it's worth the wait if you have to wait and if you are rushed it's so that others can have a chance to eat their awesome food. I've been to many Indian restaurants around the world but this place never fails to live up to my expectations and it's one of the only places I actually crave when I am out of the country. This place is so popular amongst its customers that some have been known to come directly from the airport to eat after returning from their holidays to get their fix. Give it a try - the food is so good and the costs are reasonable. You can't say fairer than that.
