The plan this afternoon was to dust the baker's rack in the kitchen, and somehow it turned into painting - touching up the walls and trim. Obviously I am a shitty planner.

I have CBC Radio One streaming louder than usual, and every time I leave the room the dog starts barking at it; she thinks Randy Bachman is in my kitchen. Which would be cool, but no. Tonight's Vinyl Tap is exceptional, all aboriginal artists.

Somebody has carefully planned how many of these promo bits to release and when, in order to generate the maximum amount of hype.

I know I'm being manipulated, and yet it doesn't affect my eagerness and joy at all  :)

Neko Atsume: Finally got the last one!  And I'm a little disturbed that I'm feeling such a sense of accomplishment for collecting imaginary cats.

Oh I got the updated ones too Naomi, but I don't have all the cats' treasures so the thrill is not yet over ;)

BTW - did you get the new Principles of Knitting? Is worth upgrading from the old version?

Yeah, they turn up around here pretty cheap too; Himself only asks more money for ones that are extraordinary in some way - very large, or an obscure manufacturer, or extremely good condition. There's also a teeny-weeny one that I won't let him sell because it's so cute, but the travelling War of 1812 re-enactors would give him anything for it.

Good grief. I think I sewed every seam of this quilt block twice.

Jurassic World: 124 minutes in which Claire slowly loses pieces of clothing while Owen acquires larger and deadlier guns.

Also, dinosaurs.

“People need to wear pants and not set off fireworks by the gas station,” said Calgary Police Staff Sgt. Steve Ellefson. (12,000 people celebrate Flames win in Calgary streets.)

Pretty solid words to live by.

Made myself a flexi-loop orifice tool for the wheels with really narrow orifices (orifi?). Why didn't anyone tell me that making laminated turning blanks was so much fun?

After I mentioned in passing the other day that it might be handy to have a wee sled on the bandsaw, Himself toddled off and made me one. I thought the pivoting brake he came up with was quite clever. Now I can cut small things perfectly square  :)
