Today we were trying to discover what to have for lunch. We discovered a frozen container of Beef Tongue Stew in the freezer. We decided to heat that up and have it over egg noodles.  It turned out quite beautifully, but because I've been watching lots of cooking shows lately, it made me wonder - what standard items do people feel they need in their kitchen? Without these items they would feel absolutely lost. Here are mine.   ...

The greatest space adventure of all time continues! Luke Skywalker is not a Jedi, not yet, at least. He's only ever met one Jedi in his life...and he died. So, Luke's quest leads him back to Obi-Wan's hut on Tatooine.

Valve screwed themselves by doing this, now SteamOS and Steam machines will be doomed. Gamers will never buy Steam Machines out of spite for this BS.
In the long run, Linux gamers will be screwed because without SteamOS adoption we will continue to be at the bottom of the barrel. Good job at shooting yourselves in the foot, Valve. They just couldn't wait at least until the SteamOS/Steam Machine initiative was done during the Fall before doing something like this....

I'd love them to bring Rome back. We just finished watching it again, great show that really brought ancient Rome to life.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've eaten in. It's owned and run by a lovely family that seem to pride themselves on providing an authentic Mexican experience. I've had multiple dishes and they have all been, filling and delicious.

Applebee's is one of our favorites for lunch in Corvallis. It's always immaculately clean and nice and cool on a hot summers day. They have a nice selection of beers but could use a couple more craft brews. The staff are extremely polite and friendly and the food is very, very good. I recommend the Cowboy Burger if you like a good burger. Whether you're passing through or a resident of Corvallis don't hesitate to try Applebee's, I highly recommend it for lunch or anytime.

My wife and I had a bite to eat and a beer here yesterday for the first time. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and polite. I had the Cheese Fries and they were really great, the fries were lovely and crisp the way I like them and the cheese sauce was delicious. I really like the seating arrangement they have, it is nearly all booths and they are very comfortable. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that they could do with a bit more of a craft beer selection, especially considering the quality of some of the local craft beers here in Corvallis. Overall I would recommend this venue if you are passing through Corvallis or are just looking for somewhere new to try.

Flat Tail Brewing is one of those rare places with the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of the bars of old but with a very modern style. They are one of the best craft breweries I've been to. Their beer is without doubt some of the best I have ever had, my favourite being the 6AM Stout followed closely by their Tailgater Kolsch. They also do a wonderful fish n chips and their Mushroom Swiss burger is arguably the best burger this side of the pond. If it's a game you want to see or you just want to have a friendly afternoon pint with a bite to eat I'd recommend Flat Tail Brewing. You will not be disappointed so whether you live in Corvallis or are just passing through pop in and decide for yourself.

Tonight was our first time at a Middle-Eastern restaurant. Having tried Ethiopian cuisine in Portland we decided we had to finally try some Middle-Eastern food. We were not disappointed, the venue is very clean and comfortable and the staff are just fantastic, very helpful, the waitress didn't hesitate in recommending dishes as this was our first time in the restaurant. We were not disappointed, the food was delicious, mostly Lamb dishes which we love. The Lamb was just falling off the bone it was so tender and the various sauces went perfectly with the meal. They gave us so much we had to take some home so be careful the first time you try this venue not to over order. I would definitely recommend Al- Jebal to anyone who wants to try something new for a change, we will certainly be going back for seconds over the coming weeks if not days.

Absolutely fantastic food, the décor is beautiful and the staff are friendly and polite. Sada Sushi & Izakaya is a real must try if you haven't been there already. The Sushi is just incredible and worth every cent. I'd recommend trying the soft shell crab or the Godzilla roll (eel), both are incredible.

This is a really great store, the staff are friendly and helpful and the produce is amazing. They have a great choice of craft beers and their organic food is a must try. My wife introduced me to raw goats milk from this store and I haven't looked back. They even carry Kerry Gold butter at a reasonable price which was a great taste from home for me.
