We had our wedding here Sept 2nd 2014 and it was amazing. The staff the rooms the wedding banquet room all were fantastic. We booked many rooms for our entire wedding party and had the most wonderful 2 days. The staff were so lovely the breakfast was really nice. As I type this review I am about to go down for another few nights with my husband for a quick get away.

This place is going down hill fast . I was given a 500 gift certificate we only used 405.00 of it they would not give us the credit or refund for the remaining 95.00 !!!! It is dark and depressing the breakfast was some watered down juice and mini beagles that they charge 5.95 for. The carpets are filthy etc. I can think of many other places to stay and enjoy spring lake. This place is dated the dish tv was fuzzy for the prices they charge it should cable .

Booked a block of 20 rooms for my wedding. They lost power, heat and water due to Hurricane Sandy and would not refund me or my guests for their deposits even though they could not accommodate our reservations. I was also told there were displaced people from the storm staying in the rooms because they had no where else to go. The manager was very rude and would only offer a gift certificate to use within a year for a future stay. Stay away -they only care about money and obviously not their reputation!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights between our wedding and honeymoon in Sept 2011. (Our reception was at The Mill in Spring Lake Heights.) We had the luxury parlor - we went to take a look at rooms prior to booking and found that this room seemed larger than the suite. (Note that the rooms are definitely presented to be larger than they are online. I'm not sure if we would have been comfortable in a smaller room.) The staff was friendly and threw in free breakfast each morning with our stay (though it is only like $7 pp). The bathroom was clean and I paid a little more for some candles and bubble bath, but I had a VERY relaxing bath. For us, the room was virtually perfect since he's more modern hotel and I'm more classic and homey. It's a little expensive for what you get, but it was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the island-type bar area in the room is a nice perk. (Has a mini fridge and kitchen sink and whatnot.) They also left us fresh towels outside our room when we asked not to be disturbed rather than passing us over completely. The only negatives I can think of are: the lack of parking in their lot (so you have to park on the street) and the price for a fairly small, but cozy room. (Though it is in Spring Lake...) The only other thing I thought was funny was the night after we'd gotten married, we asked the woman at the front desk where to go for dinner - we assumed she'd give us a romantic little spot considering we were basically on our honeymoon - but instead she gave us directions to a more laid-back family restaurant (with paper place mats) about 15+ minutes away. It was inexpensive and the food was decent, but it was amusing to us that that was the place she decided to recommend. Not a problem, just sort of funny. Overall, we had a great stay and are looking forward to returning on an anniversary. Oh, also, they have large flat-screen tvs which my husband enjoyed watching a football game on! Slightly expensive, but definitely a more intimate experience than a generic hotel. To compare to another place in the area - I've also stayed at the Normandy. I like The Chateau's rooms a LOT more, though the breakfast at the Normandy is amazing (and I THINK free if you stay there). Both have a nice afternoon snack with refreshments.

It was great experience staying at Chateau Inn Suites. We were travelling with 2 year old, while reservation Robert asked if I needed a Crib, which was so nice of him because usually we travel with a Play pan. Upon arrival we were upgraded to Suite and Baby Crib was ready in our cozy room. Main street is about couple of blocks and Beach is about 3 blocks from the Hotel. Bicycle, Movies rentals and Breakfast were included with our stay. Loved it.. :)

We've been here many times over the past 8 years. It's one of our favorite getaways! We've even referred about 6 other couples. We've always stayed in a Luxury Parlor, Classic Parlor, Classic Suite or Luxury Suite. Our Favorite are luxury parlors, second floor. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, the location, prime! We've had stays where we spend our time locally, walking the beach, stays where we conveniently caught the train and went to NYC for the day, and stays where we checked out antiques in Red Bank. We like the quiet environment and the cleanliness is very important to us. Spring Lake is a beautiful little town and The Chataeu is a beautiful little Inn.

My sister booked us two rooms for St. Patrick's day without checking other rating sites. I don't mind trying new places, especially for just one night. Upon our arrival we found both rooms (ground floor) to smell BADLY of mold, though her's was much worse. She changed rooms but had to pay the upgrade for a suite. I didn't want to spend more so I figured I'd suffer through it for the one night. We dropped off our bags and went out for the day, returning at about 10pm. We started finding ants throughout the kitchen and bath areas and on the table in the living area in both rooms. My sister even had ants on the ceiling in her bedroom. Too late at night to do anything. In the morning, after a disgusting sleep, we informed the "manager" of the problems to which he quipped, "Sorry about that" and tossed me my receipt. Seems he had our money and couldn't care less. I'm sure that there are rooms (second floor, maybe) that aren't completely infested with ants but I expected more concern from the manager. We put our bags in trash bags on the way home and upon arriving threw in a towel soaked with ant spray for several hours before bringing them inside the house. Also, the walls are paper thin here. We had a suite and could hear the people in the next room talking on the phone. BTW, beware of 5 ratings here as many places use down time and staff to boost ratings they know are falling. (check their Google ratings) Talked to other guests in the morning and NOBODY was overly happy with the place. There are many other great places in Spring Lake and I advise using one of them instead. So now at least you've been forewarned.

This place is a pit! Dbl room means 1 small Dbl bed. Room can barely hold 2 suitcases. You have to walk sideways to get thru bathroom door. Don't waste your time or $$ on this place.
