"Deeply Rooted"
Recent sculpture piece.
The tree doesn't worry about HOW to grow, or produce fruit. It's written in the DNA of the tree. All the tree has to do is remain deeply rooted.

Is there any way to go back to the old Gmail contacts editor instead of the Google+ "Contacts" thing.  I HATE, HATE, HATE their new "interface"!  Can't find anything, options are hidden all over the place, can't do stuff that used to be trivially easy....  What a load of crap!!  :-(

I have found the keyboard shortcut GC takes you to the old contact editor (for now) whereas clicking from the menu take you to the new contact editor.

Well, thought I'd try signing up for the new Windows10 "Technical Preview" to see what's ahead. I have run into a couple of snags (yeah, this IS preview software after all), but my general impression at this point is that, while it incorporates a lot of the new stuff that Win8 tried to push on us, the way it is put together is a LOT more intuitive. I'm running it on a non-touch screen, and I don't feel like I'm continually pulling teeth to get it to do something simple. Stuff generally shows up where I'd expect it to be. Surprisingly enough, most of the software (aside from VirtualBox drivers) that I've tried runs without a hitch.

Maybe this time, Microsoft has finally learned a few lessons from Win8, and will come out with something that is nearly as usable as Win7 was.

No, Apple did NOT invent the touchscreen phone (with rounded corners) as it is claiming, as it tries to sue Samsung (and Android) into the ground...

Interesting to see Google involved in this. This is also one of OM's big themes.

Steve - it's actually more of a fighting stance than a spellcaster... though I'd be open to variations in interpretation...  ;-)   (I should get a slightly different angle to show the tension/balance in the legs better.)

Who really loses when CVS and Rite Aid pull the plug on Apple and Google's payment systems?  You and me.

http://www.eweek.com/mobile/cvs-rite-aid-chains-kill-apple-pay-in-favor-of-proprietary-system.html

(I'm no great fan of credit card companies, but at least they are subject to some pretty strict federal regulations on how they handle fraud and consumer information. The CurrentC system that CVS and Rite Aid are using can pass along pretty much anything they glean off our purchases to anyone they choose....)

Looks like the legal system has finally gotten some sense about copyrights in software, and where they do, or do not apply.

Great little art shop! We spent two weeks in the Palackého náměstí down the road, next to the river, and took many trips to this shop for supplies. It's small, so there isn't a huge selection, but the people there were very helpful, especially for a bunch of English speaking foreigners like us!
