I didn't have the best operating location as I setup under a rock pile for wind cover. That arctic air was just cold on the fingers. I heard a few guys from 40m to 10m but didn't make any contacts. I'll have to find some thin gloves for next time.

I wanted a key I could use on a desk or on my leg. After reading several forums, it has enough weight to make a good desk key.

I tend to keep my elbow close to my rib when sending. This style is closest to the British sending technique. I tap with my middle finger using my right hand.

The feel of the key is the best I've ever used besides a paddle. Even with my fingers freezing, I could send fairly well and effortlessly.

I didn't want the knob on top and he had a few paddles left from the previous model. In addition, I replaced the screw for the leg mount to the key with a thumb screw. The standard one was bit too small requiring the used of a fine screwdriver to mount and unmount the key.

Kodi discovered buffalo river today. I tried casting a tenkara rod, will need to re watch a few casting videos. With no mosquitoes, we finished the morning with hike about the trails around the science center. The photo is of Kodi playing in the and and water.

today, i finished the kx3 mount. it's on a british comm rucksack. there are two straps to hold the cutting board in place and the radio is mounted at the top of it. there is a 20amph battery below and the solar panel to charge the battery can easily be attached to the outside of the pack. note the buddiepole mount for the long 9.5' whip antenna (not seen).

the rest of the pack interior is free space for day use or can be expanded to a full ruck for longer trips. i'd show a field picture but perhaps on a warmer day. it's -6F right now and that's cold! i also have a travel mast 10m and a 40m efhw for it on longer operating times.

Nice one.  I've not seen many KX3 backpacks.  Let us know how you get on in the field with it.
