Great infographic by Lucy V Hay (Bang 2 Write) on how to write a one page pitch for your script or novel.

It seems the government is trying to sneak 14 new lords into the House of Lords while everyone's distracted by the royal wedding. A blatantly cynical attempt to rig the chamber while it does important work holding them to account. Sign the Electoral Reform Society's petition:

Time to stop a system where in Plymouth, the Conservatives got the most votes, but Labour won the council. In Westminster, the Conservatives narrow lead was translated into a landslide and in Richmond the Liberal Democrats won over 70% of the seats on fewer than half the votes.

Unlike in Scotland and Northern Ireland, voters in England and Wales have to use Westminster's broken voting system for their local elections. Voters want councils with real opposition to ensure the best value for money, yet the voting system produces councils dominated by single parties.

Northern Ireland has used a fair and proportional system for local elections for decades – and in 2007 Scotland joined them. Hopefully, Wales will soon be giving councils the right to choose. Now it's time England caught up.

Very pleased to be asked by Lost in a Story to write about one of my all-time subjects in writing, whether novels, movies, TV or plays - how to break the rules and get away with it.
