Yes!

This is OUR work - and we are still in the experimentation phase... With some powerful drivers to "do better".
The smart city vision will best be realized if urban leaders work together to develop standard practices for modern management.

from SHARED MINDFULNESS to COLLECTIVE WISDOM
Here is a seminal essay on Archetypal Practices for Collective Wisdom.
http://www.collectivewisdominitiative.org/papers/hurley_archetypal.htm
I throw it as a seed in the soil of this group. Curious whether it will sprout.
Overture. Most of us have experienced the power present in a collective field – moments in which we were deeply attuned with another, times in which we worked with a team to accomplish something we hadn't thought possible, occasions in which a deep well of shared meaning suddenly opened in the ...

Hi All - I'm looking for some feedback on some evolving ideas. Any thoughts welcomed!

First, some context; over the past four years, since "digital" became a new business challenge I've found that leaders continue to struggle to respond to it. Whilst many are doing something, this reaction rarely steps beyond silo-ed initiatives. Even fewer approach the challenge as a systemic one. Ultimately this leads to plenty of investment though not enough to achieve more than incremental improvements. And it certainly does not prepare them for the disruption that is here now (or the greater change that is to come).

For me much of this is about simplicity and context. In the first instance, simplifying the myriad of options that exists into a set of easily understood and digestible themes. And, secondly, creating a connection between these summary themes and the unique context of the business so that they can be translated into a language and action that the business understands.

To this end, over the past 12 months I've been doing some thinking about the digital themes that have driven disruptive change over the past ten years, considered how these have evolved, and attempted to define how they will shape our future over the next decade.

The five themes shown in the diagram are these. I'd envisage a business using these as a discussion point for what it means for their business (perhaps nothing), to stretch their thinking, and to push them to think systemically.

I appreciate that I have been immersed in this idea for a year so whilst these look natural and straight-forward to me, they amy not appear so to others. Id' really like to get thoughts on;
- Do these make sense?
- As described, what do you take from it?
- Is there something missing?

I'd be happy to do a HangOut to talk through the if it's useful. I'm in the process of writing more about these themes and how to apply them so feedback at this stage would be incredibly useful.

Perhaps the "sharing economy" can provide some good examples...

thank you +Sharon Vosmek

As the conversation continues about the lack of #diversity in #entrepreneurship, #venturecapital , corporate leadership, corporate board rooms, and the #technology industry in particular, +Astia today released its first White Paper - Investing in the Success of Women High-Growth Entrepreneurs, their Teams and their Ventures.

Co-authored by +Sharon Vosmek, Astia CEO, and Teresa Nelson, PhD, Elizabeth J. McCandless Chair in Entrepreneurship, +Simmons College, this statement on the future of innovation has developed over fifteen years of Astia working with high-growth ventures internationally.

We see women leaders as integral participants in inclusive, high performing entrepreneurial teams — without them, success is more difficult and we believe this position should be more widely understood.
Astia is a community of experts committed to propelling women’s full participation as entrepreneurs and leaders in high-growth businesses, fueling innovation and driving economic growth.
