Note3 4.4.2 firmware vs CF-Auto-Root

I have just updated the CF-Auto-Root for the Note3, and it now works with the 4.4.2 firmware for the Note3.

I had to rebase on the new 4.4.2 recovery to get it working. I also had to update my Note3 to the latest bootloaders to even get it to boot at all (regardless of root).

As such, I can't say for sure if the new CF-Auto-Root still works on 4.3 firmwares, so if you're still on a 4.3 firmware, please be so kind as to test and report back.

For the same reason, I'm also not sure if it'll work if you have not updated your bootloaders. I'm sure some of you have flashed this latest firmware without the new bootloaders, so let me know if it works for that case as well.

sorry for my english
can i flash 4.4.2 on 4.3 jm7 via odin mobile pro and keep the root ?
Wow! thanks a lot. It is working. :D
+Martial Bessiere Mobile ODIN is not updated yet with 4.4.2 support. That's coming soon though. In the meantime, just use Odin + CF-Auto-Root.
Where can I find the 4.4.2 firmware for my N9005?
Yes new cf auto root works on s4 using stock 4.3 it even auto updated to mk2 after rooted
Is triangle away working for this bootloader? Thank you.
+Martial Bessiere If the new bootloader is needed to boot in 4.4.2 (like +Chainfire says) you probably won't be able to use Mobile Odin at all to upgrade since it doesn't flash bootloaders. Plus, the new bootloader will be patched (since they all are, starting from MJ3) and you won't be able to use Root de la Vega anymore.
Unless people find a new security flaw (which no-one has found in the MJ3+ bootloaders), it looks like we're screwed.
Any chace one of you guys know any tool to modify value on igg games...but dont say gamechi or game haker or the usualy stuff they change but dont keep the value
Sorry for the question but what's this about bootloader? I just flashed my Note 3 with 4.3 ML2 firmware, and rooted it using Chainfire's CF Root. Now if I flash 4.4.2 over it, it won't boot? I thought stock ROMs always came with their own bootloaders.. no?
+senectus the firmware is, CF-Autoroot isn't. If you want knox friendly root search root de la vega on xda forums.
I failed to get it to work with 4.3 MJ7 on my Note 3 LTE.
Chainfire is a great man, cant wait for 4.4.2 for S4 i9505 than i will use cfauto root and report
I get stuck in the bootloop saying 'recovery booting'.
What I do wrong?
Tried multiple times
Recovery Booting...
Recovery is not SEANDROID enforcing
Set Warranty Bit: recovery

Any suggestions?
Do you by any chance tried CWM, it doesn't work for me, despite the root? Thanks a lot for your hard work.+Chainfire
TWRP doesn't work either, have to wait for CWM and Team Win to update their apps I s'pose.
So Chainfire 1 - Samsung 0? :)
Even If +Chainfire dies, I will go to the end of the earth to raise him up. Lol. Keep doing good man! :)
if i Root my Note 3 with Chainfire, can i still get Official OTA Update's?
Successfully rooted my note3 with new cf-root after upgraded in 4.4.2
thank chainfire ;)
+Chainfire The latest version (the one mentioned in your post) does not work with my SM-N9005 running 4.3. I had to use an older version of your root in order to root this device.
Hello,, is it ok to apply this root with knox, and can i still receive updates through OTA,,,thanks a lot.
Guys rooting will trip your knox 0X1.
Yes, but Chainfire requested that anyone still on 4.3 see if it would still work, it didn't. So I upgraded to 4.4.2 and then it worked fine.
I install cf-root on 4.4.2 my phone  now in a loop it say:
-recovery booting
-recovry is not seandroid enforcing
-set warranty bit: recovery
?? please help
+Ruud Faber which cf root version do you use? The new one or the old one? Try flash it again with the new cf root
+Fadhil Ali I did it earlier with the new one posted here and the same thing happened. Had to restore my phone completely.
Fl Oh
no autorotation after root?
Fl Oh
its curious ... most of the people dont have that problem, others got it... with no root everything works fine
+Chainfire I'm on Android 4.4.2 Official Kitkat : Poland version. Can i use this to root my Note 3 without any issues?
Yes I installed it on my Note 3 with Qualcom Snapdragon LTE N9005
Can it reset flash counter 0 on my glaxy note 3 n900 ? It show warranty bit 1 after rooting my note 3 n900 . How to do warranty bit 0 .
But was it on the poland firmware, which was the FIRST one to recive the android 4.4.2 firmware...
What recovery does cf auto root flash? Hi mr chainfire I was trying to flash kit kat firmware To my tmobile note 3 with mobile odin Pro but it said my device is not supported then an option popped up to generate a dump file but then it said don't do it causeyou won't be able to get a refund so I had to get the refund without risking the app not Working and not getting my money back? What do you suggest? Thanks
+Ruud Faber  I just figured it out. try this.
1) remove battery
2) press and hold the volume down button + power button+ home button (download mode)
3) while holding the buttons ask some one to put the battery in.

when u do that it goes into download mode. then cancel it . ur phone should boot. and mine knox warranty void became 0x1

I installed ROOM completely and ran a boot. By then it worked.
will this work on the new mexican test firmware 4.4.2 on the 900w8 note 3?
Work like a charm with ''N9005XXUENA6_N9005OXXENA5_XEO'' Thank you.
Edit: worked fine after a reboot :0) N9005XXUENA6 perfect working..
CF-Auto-Root / N9005XXUENA6_N9005OXXENA5_XEO / n9005-cwm-recovery-
After reboot I use Root cleaner, work great and smooth. Thank you Chainfire!
Randy M
doest it work with n900w8 4.4.2 ???
Used the root cleaner after try it..
this worked for rooting my Canadian, bell mobility, galaxy note 3 (900w8)  running the Mexican test release of 4.4.2.   used odin, select pda
Thanks for your work.  Are you going to work on updating the CF-Auto-Root for the AT&T S3 w/ the 4.3 update.  When I did it from the xda forums, everything worked until Knox blocked it.  There has been another Samsung security update.  My phone is recognized as rooted by flixster and some other apps, but SU and TriangleAway can't get root access because Knox blocks access.  Thanks!
Using on the 4.3 firmware cf-root apparently succeeds but then gets stuck on recovery booting.

it also sets the knox flag. this post helped get it starting again.

However there is no root on the device after this failure.

I am going to update to 4.4.2 I wanted it anyway.
what recovery can I use and where is the download
How do you install an image file?
+Bill Jones not really the place for that. Google xda developers and browse the forums from there.
Works fine :)  If one an original proficient product of Samsung OTA flash, is not raised Knox Counter. So it must be possible to adapt Custom of Rome accordingly with it this there also not passed. Of my opinion only one code segment must be found and be taken over.
you are the man! I recently rooted my Note 3 running 4.3, I just flashed 4.4.2 and used your new auto root and it worked perfect. Thank you. By the way I'm using a note 3 from mexico SM-900W8 and it works just fine. What I am in dire need of is network unlock!!! I have looked everywhere!!! when I put in the AT&T sim i get a message that says network locked with an option to dismiss but no option to put a code or anything. Do you know what the hell I can do to achieve this? Anyone?
+Roveen Joe Dude, THANK YOU.
I literally just bought this hours ago and was freaking that I bricked it. Does this mean its rooted now or did it not take?
Hello, I would like to help me with my problem, I have a samsung galaxy note3 N9005.

the problem is that connects Droidvpn UDP and TCP while I am not root, but when I connect to root for ICMP, Droidvpn not connected in any way, tells me permission denied.

please if anyone can help me with this I would appreciate a lot …
it doesnt work on 4.3 any more
if your getting...

Set Warranty Bit : recovery

pull out battery, reboot into download mode and simply flash the older version of cf-autoroot with odin
This is not working with SM-N900 4-4-2-kitkat . Tested. so plz be kindly do something regarding this Matter. Looking forward something from you.
Not working :(
after flashing i get this:

Set Warranty Bit : recover

what to do??
Really, if anyone knows how to get the old auto-root I could really do with it so I can perform the root on 4.3. Many thinks in advance.
gave me a scary moment - did not work on my European note 3 (sm-n9005xxudmj7) running 4.3
got stuck in bootload.
like so many before me:

Recovery booting......
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set Warranty Bit : Recovery

took me a while to find out how to get out of this. and it's easy. just so disappointing that nobody here with the same problem didn't get an answer or any support.

so here's what helped me
try turning your phone on downloading mode{ vol down, power ,home button} when it ask press up to continue and down to cancel, press down button it will restart your back to normal...

still no root though, and of course no more updates either. i'm glad the phone is working at least. now i'll search further
I did re-mention how to get out of it 4 posts above after reading it in a previous post in the thread so there is advice on how to get the phone working again, albeit rootless and with no recovery.

I am sure the almighty Chainfire will resolve this soon but had been hoping there was a link to the pre 4.4 version that those of us still on 4.3 could use in the mean time as there are a couple of posts about using the older version but I have had no luck finding it yet.
Seems like many people have the same problem. I just bought my NOte3 today. Rooting went fine with cf auto root but then you want to install a custom recovery and i got bootloops.  It's possible to load the phone normally but there is no way to get into a recovery... Who is "to blame" ? Who will help us to get a recovery so we can flash a rom.
I've got a new CSC N9005PHENA2 with app N9005XXUENA6
Is this one also root-able with your tool ?

Thanks for your great and noble work ;-)
This is a great work man, but unfortunately I have Note 3 n900s And I already upgrded it to android kitkat , so please can you update the Cf-Auto-Root of n900s so that it can root android kitkat ,I used the old file and when I flash using Odin it says "Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing
" and I must Flash Android kitkat again to let it work , please reply and sorry for my bad english
I upgraded to kitkat 4.4.2 Note 3 SM-900T and even after odin says pass, it is stuck in Boot loop (which I know how to get out of) and I get this message like everyone else;
Recovery Booting...
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set warranty bit: recovery
Please help,
You guys with the boot loops are you sure you are using the latest version of autoroot?  I flashed the Polish 4.4.2 and had a boot loop when using the old autoroot that I used on 4.3.  Downloaded the new version and root worked first time.
Would you mind posting the correct link of Cf auto root?, I'm pretty sure I'm using the right one but just to make sure and I have the SM-900T 4.4.2 kit Kat. Thanks.
if you have android 4.3 chainfire files will work with you but if you have android 4.4.2 follow my steps
ohhh I Mean My steps from above comments, but any way I will tell you in details but first what's your android version?
Hello people. Since the update to Kitkat 4.4.2 my Note 3 (SM-N9005) no longer writes to the external SD Card and so i figured out i need to root my phone in order to regain Write permissions on the external SD card.
I have uninstalled/disabled KNOX from my phone as i don't use it and don't need it. My question is this:
If i root my phone, will KNOX still affect my root by throwing error messages? i am not bothered about the KNOX warranty it's just that i would really like to be able to write back to my SD card!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Check xda forums this is a common issue, basically you need to edit your permissions xml file as the write to extsd option has been removed
This might sound silly.... but still here it goes....

I just got ma new Note 3 (SM-N900 - Exynos version) (bought a new one after i got refunded for my previous one after a long battle with Samsung).... Wanna root.... But couldn't exactly find answers to all my questions....

1) I am on 4.4.2. N900XXUDNB2. Can I just use CF-Auto-Root to get root access ?
2) This alone will not trip the knox counter I suppose ?
3) Can I flash CWM/TWRP ? Without tripping Knox ?
4) Does the Exynos version even have an eFuse like the Snapdragon version ?
1- First you can't use CF-Auto-Root it won't work because it's not updated to your device it's updated only to n9005
2- No it will trip it
3- No you can't
4- I think yes

If you want to root without tripping your knox here is the solution provided by wwjoshdew at‏

unfortunately I  rooted my n900s with traditional medthod which trips my know If you want to know the traditional method just tell me :D
Hehe.... Thanks for the directions though ;)

Even with the method u jst mentioned I can just get root I suppose ? If I need a custom recovery/rom Knox has to be tripped ?
yes it will be tripped if you use custom recovery or rom , I think with wwjoshdew method you can root your device without tripping knox
Lemme check it out... and one more question. ... does it matter that am on 4.4.2.... it shud still wrk right..?

Anyhow, thanks... :)
yes, it should still work because it works like the traditional method(which works on my n900s 4.4.2 KitKat) but the difference that it root the device without CWM recovery so I think it should still work

you are welcome any time :)
Just a quick update:
Rooted successfully and with KNOX disabled via SuperSU everything is working beautifully.

I do have 2 more questions:

1. Would Triangle Away app change "Custom" to "Official"? it shows counter as 0 without even resetting it! Is this normal?

2. Interested in purchasing the "Regionlock away" app but not sure if it works on the latest firmware. Can you please comment if you managed to get it to work with the latest XXUENB7 build number on the SM-N9005? My Note 3 is factory sim unlocked BTW so i wouldn't need it for experimenting with sim unlocking my device.

Many thanks to all
Triangle Away
Is not working the i9505 firmware I9505VJUFNB2_I9505ZTOFNB3
Not set, the counter flag 0x0
+Gali Janach I didn''t even try Triangle App or Regionlock App because I have galaxy note 3 n900s sorry
how do I flash into cwm recovery keeps getting stuck in recovery bootloop
+Daniel Barreto I have no experience with Triangle Away yet cuz I have note 3 which Triangle Away didn't work with it sorry
+Mia Sanders you must have the correct CWM for your android version cuz it differ from version to version (CWM for 4.3 is different from CWM for 4.4.2 KitKat) get the correct CWM and then flash it again, if you still stuck in bootlooping then you must flash your official stockrom using Odin and then flash the correct CWM
i have rooted my stock 4.3 to cf autoroot 4.3 and i want to use this 4.4.2 version. what should i do?
Bam bam
I Cant get it to work on my N900A 4.4.2 (Baseband CMLG) I'm starting to regret buying the AT&T variant
my note3 N9005 is on stock 4.4.2. will using this trip my knox counter?
+willam d  this update is for n9005 only so you will root ot by the normal method
+chris me the app region ulock works for unlocking your note but I don't think its updated to 4.4.2. So I am not patient and paid 29.99 on I got a code within the hour. Unlocked to at&t now.
where can i find a CF autoroot file for AT&T note 3 (Applicable after kitkat update)??
I used the root for the 9005 international but it says this will work. I was on 4.4.2 when I rooted it.
I want to root my note 3 n900A on 4.4.2
So do I...AT&T N900A. 4.4.2 Is there any chance for this phone to get root again
Me 3! Is it possible to root N900A AT&T version with 4.4.2?
in a boot loop just tried to root with 4.4.2.

Recovery booting
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing

then reboots

cant get into download
+Jordan Smith this is because you used wrong files ,you need to flash the stock samsung rom and then try rooting again but with correct files for it and it's android version
Anyone successful on sprint sm-n900p?

thanksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss you are the best!!!
I am a newbie and need your HELP. I HAVE A CANADIAN ROGERS NOTE 3 WITH KIT KAT and want to finally walk walk into the world of root.
Can you please help me do this the the right way? I also want to download the proper recovery and all that is needed.
Please get back to me
N900T Stock just out of box. I run the cf-auto-root and I get the same recovery boot loop as above. I see people say use older version but the download site only shows one version. I am able to get back to my phone via download but cancel out but I still need to get my phone rooted. No one above has said HOW to do that other than they say download an older version but give no links to get the older versions to download. This is worthless.
I ended up using Odin to update to 4.4.2 than did cf-auto-root and that worked.
that's great you are a lucky man now we know that cf-auto-root 4.4.2 update for n9005 works also on n900t that's nice
Mahmoud sherif. I took a chance and rooted my phone. It worked! I also got an app TWRP. Does that mean I don't need to use odin to install that recovery on my note 3? I In I need help help in so so many areas. For instance, I I want to get rid of all the bloat ware. So many things. My Version is the Canadian version
SM-N900W8. And N900W8VLUCNB7
Mahmoud sherif. I tried to put TWRP on my phone and now it keeps booting to "booting" I want to know what version to download and how to to put in my phone. I downloaded an app called TWRP. I downloaded the version either that version didn't work or I did it wrong. Please help. Mahmoud
There are twrp Odin flashable images as well.
+Danny Marquez I think cannot , but you may be a lucky man like Chris Darrow who tried successfully it on N900T but I don't recommend you to do this you my brick your device

you must download twrp files for your device version and your 4.4.2 android version (the files for 4.3 is differ than files for 4.4.2 take care)
+Danny Marquez ohhhh you need to root it without tripping knox , if you have android 4.3 root de la vega should work but if you have 4.4.2 no root without tripping knox is out yet
that's very nice, tell me first do you flashed a CWM or TWRP through odin?
So is there a CF Root in the works for Note 3 AT&T (NC2 update)?
im guessing this will not work on the vzw note 3 update that just came out
AT&T Note 3 4.4.2 Fails to root so far.
My bad, I realize after some reaearch it require an unlocked BL
Does someone knows a way to root the ATT Note 3 4.4.2 Build KOT49H.N900AUCUCNC2 i don't care tripping Knox.

+Sean Flanagan Did you found something for the root on your Note 3 i really need it!!!
bryan there is no way way not to trip knox right now
+Bryan Rivera from what I've gathered we need an unlocked bootloader to use something like this. At&t is not allowing for unlocked bootloader on our devices. We just have to wait for a Kitkat exploit like kingo....😧
has someone tried to root with the TMobile CF Root the N900A 4.4.2 NC2
Today I rooted my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9006 running KitKat 4.4.2 (N9006ZCUEND1) after I failed at it for about ten times... earlier I used the recommended CF-Auto-Root-hlte-h3gzc-smn9006.tar.md5 and it never worked, so today I was desperate enough to just try the one for the SM-N9005 ... and it worked!
So, I used CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 and it worked perfectly. ROM Manager and Root Checker confirmed it.

Great job, Chainfire. Thank you for your services!
Has anyone tried using the T-Mobile CF Root file to root the N900a 4.4.2 NC2
Me neither mine doesn't have warranty b/c i bought it from someone off craigslist, just would like root so I can fix the wifi issue and put apps in the system folder.  I don't know if I want to try to do the t-mo root method on at&t, might brick the phone or bootloop.
Yeah I'm afraid of that too because there's no Official Stock ROM to flash in case of that, I just want the root to do a process because is a client phone
Appreciate your work sir. +Chainfire

But i cant seem to root my phone.
I was in a bootloop. Already gotten out of it by going into download mode.
I've already tried other methods too. Eg: Pull-out method, turning off restriction lock and what not.

Any help guys?

I'm using a Note 3 LTE SM-N9005.
Baseband : N9005XXUENC2
need root to att sm n900a MLG its working???
+Netz Hog thank-you so much for giving the straightforward answer I needed---was getting desperate after an hour of finding now way out of the boot loop===  thanks so much again friend!
Hi I am not able to Root note 3 N900T  when i flash cf root file in odin the phone is not booting to andriod please help
before that should i flash a firmware because its not booting
If u can get in download mode u can use kingo. Then try to see if it boots if not then look for 4.3 stock N900t firmware.
Can i have a link for Kingo root for N900T
I did it shows only N9006 model
any root method for at&t N-900A on 4.4.2 ?
I have heard the one from Germany might work
steven smith , is it for the n-900a ?
So if I use this CWM version to root my AT&T Note 3 running 4.4.2 KitKat it will in fact root my phone but trip Knox counter? ( which it doesn't matter I only have 1 yr contract) I just want to be able to use Freedom again.

I have heard it works on the AT&T one without tripping knox, but I need to find the link again
This is basically trash to me without being able to root. Time for it to be put on eBay.
Will this root and install a custom recovery on my note 3 sm9005 in UK running on 4.4.2 ,thanks guys

this won't work for AT&T.  It just says fail.  I tried.
+Chainfire  any updates to getting AT&T Note 3 on 4.4.2 rooted?...My phone is completely stock and unflashable :(
I will never purchase another Samsung device I cant believe they let At&t talk them into locking there bootloaders  customers want to have total control over the products they purchase and what ever happened to the customer is always right mentality when providing a service/product
If you cant tell I'm totally disgusted with Samsung and AT&T for that matter
Is there a solution in the works for those of us stuck with an AT&T 4.4.2 Note 3 I just got mine this week and it already had the 4.4.2 on it otherwise I would have not updated to 4.4.2 because of the A3 bootloader BS.
I can see ATTs point in having Samsung lock the bootloader. You have a lot of people trying to get into rooting and installing custom ROMs and are totally trashing there phones and then trying to return it back to ATT for an exchange. And then when ATT doesn't want to replace the phone because the customer modified the files on the phone...The customer complains about ATT and then they end up replacing the phone for the customer anyway.

My suggestion to ATT and Samsung is to make a standard version of the phone and then make a developer's version of the phone with everything unlocked. Let the customer know what the difference is...educate them...and let them make the choice. But to make the choice for all is just bad business. That's my two cents.
Unfortunately the ATT version of the Note 3 with 4.4.2 is stuck for good as no further development is being sought for this version of the hand set. So if your on 4.3 ATT Note and you like to develop your phone...freeze the 4.4.2 update and stay on 4.3...The downside is that your stuck with all of the GPS issues of 4.3

At the end of the day I'm done with Samsung and there cheap plastic phones if my phone is going to be locked then I would rather a a better built phone. HTC M8 or iPhone 6 here I come...
+Stewart Taylor 1st Post= Good suggestion but it will never fly "(It simply makes to much sense)" The part about it being Bad business is spot on as well

2nd Post= "Quote" ""no further development is being sought for this version of the hand set"" Totaly un acceptable.

"Quote" ""At the end of the day I'm done with Samsung""

Total Boycott in effect here....

Unless they were to ever so kindly leak an Unlocked version of the A3 Bootloader that could be installed over the currently locked A3 NC2 and would allow for the device to be rooted as well as the installation of an open source recovery so we can run nandroid B-Ups.....   "But Who am I kidding, This is likely to never happen"
A none rooted Note 3 is useless it's like having a toy you can't play with without supervision. I plan to wait to see what the new iPhone looks like. ..I figure if I'm gonna have a locked phone I might as well a have a good quality locked phone. With Samsung the only real thing it have going for it was it's software everybody knows that the build quality is garbage. ..but at least the bootloader was unlocked so you felt like you were getting something for your money. Now they took that away which in my opinion makes the phone useless. I do know that the HTC M8 has been rooted and the development on that should be fun. But this Note 3....I'm done. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Never again.
My SM-N9005 LTE (not carrier-branded) ended up sham rooted. That is, Root Checker declares it rooted but it is not rooted fully enough to allow unwanted Samsung programs and firmware to be removed.
Verizon released their kit kat version for the SM-900V, which I installed over Odin. Could you add this version to your supported devices?
I would love a root method for the sm-900a W/ kitkat pleaseeeeeeee!
All efforts to get the Note 3 running 4.4.2 has stopped. The ATT version of the Note 3 running 4.4.2 cannot be rooted so all development has stopped. We have to enjoy the phone as is.
+Matthew Deakyne i would like to see the sm-n900v supported as well but i wonder if there isnt a issue with not being able to flash it due to our locked bootloader or something along those lines ive noticed other varriants of our phone have been able to get custom recoverys and we havent i suspect it may be the same for cf auto root but would be cool if it showed up for our phone
Lol!!! I don't know how else to put it. All development for the ATT Note 3 that received the official over the air up day from ATT has stopped. The phone is unrootable aka useless to those who like to develop there phone. ATT has finally found a way to stop the development of there phones as they see fit. On speaking to a rep at ATT...look for this to be done on future devices from ATT as well. Basically if you like to develop your phone once you pay for it...don't buy it from ATT. You have been warned. If you don't care about rooting your phone then buy from ATT if you so please. But ATT has stopped the developers at xda dead in there tracks to the point that most of them have moved on to other phones and will not be attempting to develop anymore ATT devices. I'm moving to international versions from here on out myself...yeah it will cost more but at least it's supported by developer's.
Yea think I am going to have to wait for my contract with ATT to run out and hop over to T-Mobile....Grumble, what a pain in the @#@
People with AT&T Note 3.  I read on the Bounty and Root site for NC2.  A senior member stated "It's being worked on but won't be released until the dev is ready. Just confirmed last night he has a working downgrade but reboots random and upon reboot the phone resets and wipes itself. We just have to be patient.
This is like the iPhone jailbreak some say we won't ever get one for whatever new firmware was released then what happens the jailbreak is released lol the root will come sit back and enjoy your expensive phone its still the best thing smoking lol"  So there is hope.
Why in the heck would I want to downgrade my phone to say. ...4.3 when that build was plagued issue on the ATT version of the Note 3. At least with 4.4.2 it's stable and the GPS issues are gone.
Maybe u could root and flash to a 4.4 rom
or Maybe you don't like customization and flashing.
I used to develop. ..that's how I know what I know. If they find a way to root the 4.4.2 from ATT without downgrading the phone that would be awesome. But as it stands the 4.3 build was way too buggy for me to go backwards just to have root access. I applaud the guy for trying though. I think ATT has all bases covered though the phone is pretty much root proof never seen anything like it.
Theirs over $15000 on the line to the first one to make it happen believe me it's being worked on just not publicly open for discussion. The downgrade is necessary due to the locked bootloader pretty much same process with 4.3 but much harder so it seems at the moment. Within a couple weeks we will have root on 4.4.2 or have the ability to downgrade to rock a custom 4.4.2
It would be nice...we shall see. I gave it a shot but somebody else more talented then me will have to do it. Wish them luck!

Someone please tag me if they find a root w/Knox counter or no counter for Verizon sm-n900v note 3 with 4.4.2. I need root!
Unfortunately I bricked my AT&T Note 3 running rooted Android 4.3.  Took it to Best Buy and a Samsung rep reflashed it with Android 4.4.2.  DAMN IT!  So now I am eagerly waiting on an update.  Best of luck to Chainfire.

Please help...want to install stock rom on galaxy note 3. Had CM 11
I just saw this I have note 3 n900a 4.4.2 build kot49h is the bounty still out for the root method?
The AT&T version of the Note 3 is unrootable as will be with future products from AT&T no matter how big the bounty gets. The phone has to be enjoyed as is. I would suggest switching carriers as sprint tmobil and Verizon has no plans to follow in AT&Ts footsteps at running communists mobile phone company.
Damn well I got one year looks like I'm switching to t mobile then after this
Yeah I'm switching carriers as well AT&T aren't selling nothing but different versions of the iPhone. And android phone that is unrootable iPhone. And I didn't buy an iPhone for that reason.
can I use this on my SM-N900A? It's running 4.4.2 and I hate it. I can't find a tool anywhere to root it so I can remove the ton of bloatware from my phone.
My apologies, I posted before I read other comments. Apparently I'm stuck with 4.4.2 even though I'm not on AT&T service, simply because I have an AT&T handset.
Nevertheless, I still have to find a way to remove the bloatware. Because, the update, which I didn't authorize, installed several more apps that I never use, yet want ever more of my personal information and permissions.
This is for the non AT&T version of the Note 3. If you try to use this on your AT&T version of the Note 3 it will render your phone useless. The AT&T version of the Note 3 is Unrootable. In the future all AT&T smartphones will be unrootable.
Do this work for n900a cause it says n9005
It seems to me that root is based on tricking the bootloader to load a file that then enables one to have control over permissions of all files including system files. Can't some Chinese company just create a new bootloader er and a way to push it onto the phone? The phone is no different than a computer. I would gladly void the warranty on my phone just to have root again.
I don't have a problem with AT&T until one day they F#$% my bill and ever since I've been disliking them lately. I really like their signal reception in my area and also the fact I have unlimited DATA from being grandfathered from back in the day. I'm also an Android fan I love how I can manipulate my Phone to my liking for whatever the hell I want. but this new thing that AT&T is playing Communist is really Pissing me Off!! Why are they pulling an Apple on loyal consumer? there's no need for this BS!

PS. I need honest advice please. Should I change carrier or buy unlock phones from now on? ( considering AT&T signal reception is really good and reliable in my area)
So what's the latest on the 4.4.2 root? I have the Verizon LTE SM-900V...
Anthony, I'd say If you have a good thing (being grandfathered in) don't lose it. Just get unlocked phones from now on. That's what I'm doing too.
I am also hoping the N900V will be supported soon
As far as I know, there hasn't really been any news on a root exploit.
I presume this still trips knox?
From what I hear.  Now that AT&T have finally been able to get Samsung to lock the boot loader on there phones, they will be moving forward to make all of there phones un-rootable.  They have been wanting to do this for a while and have finally been able to do it with the Note 3.  XDA developers will not be able to crack this phone no matter how big the bounty gets.  From what I hear from insider information...expect the same thing with the AT&T version of the Note 4 only it will be even tougher to crack then the Note 3.  This is why I will be switching to Verizon or Sprint when the Note 4 comes out.  Don't really like either of those carriers but they have the best signal in my area, and they have no plans to follow suit like AT&T did in making the phone un-rootable.
Base Number - L720VPUFNAE
build number - KOY49H.L720VPUFNAE
Galaxy S4 SPH-L720 {now i see you have}
Does that make a difference? I guess what i am trying to say is should mine be saying {CF-Auto-Root_jflite-jfltexx-SPH-L720} or something like it.
Also my phone was rooted, i had a problem and had to uninstall root to get the phone working again. Now that things are back, can i or this phone be re-rooted? Reason why i am asking is now it has that 4.4.2 software update, that loaded by itself when i first turned it on and now everytime i try to root super user says not rooted.
I'm buying unlock phones from now on especially there's lots of affordable to choice from like OnePlus one, nexus, moto X. Heck, even company like Blu is producing great smartphone lately. or completely switch to t mobile.
For the most part anyone who's into developing there phone once they get it shouldn't buy it from AT&T.  Most developers won't even support AT&T devices anymore.  AT&T basically cells phones for people who don't like to develop there phones and just use them as is.  People who like to develope there phones make up a small percentage of there cell phone sales...thats the more than likely the reason behind there move to lock down all of there phones.  AT&T got tired of the warranty claims after the customer attempted to develop there phone so they did the math and decided if locked down the phones to prevent developing then they will loose some cusotmers but the trade off is that they won't have the excessive warranty exchange problem from people bricking there phones trying to root them and install custom roms.  But I'm sure Verizon and Sprint as well as T-Mobile will welcome those customers AT&T loss with open arms.  The best thing to do is either accept the phone from AT&T as is or buy an unlocked phone thats supported by the development community that way you can flash your phone as much as you like and develop until your hearts content.   My next phone will be a Nexus phone..they are never locked and are very well supported by the development community aways.
I just tried it for the SM-N900P and it is stuck on cache.img.ext4. I just got a Note 3 with 4.3
O meu não funcionou aparece esta mensagem, rom 4.3/

Hey use geohots root towelroot! ! Roots at&ts note 3 4.4.2 build kot49h
This is my 1st time trying to root a phone.

I am having an impossible time rooting my galaxy note 3

SM-N9006 (Chinese)
Android ver: 4.4.2
baseband: N9006ZCUENE1

I tried several methods, mainly ODIN with " n9006-cwm-recovery-"

the problem is that every time I have to reboot the phone in recovery mode, I get:

Set Warranty Bit: recovery (yellow)

and it bootloops till that. ( root de la vega, kingo, ODIN, etc... same problem, grrrr!)

I am guessing that's because I am using the wrong firmware to flash my phone

I just want to install Google play store ( Chinese note 3 blocked it, some bull**!!!!) and customize my phone
any help please?
