This is a great talk on how the medium of the computer hasn't reached it's full potential for art creation, yet. Specially relevant for #animators  and #techart

The research is great. As are Her ideas for haptic feedback. her conclusion was perfect. Not replace or copy the real world virtually but enhance and augment it. Great find Mike.

Passing the word along...

"Attention Boston Game Developers. If you were affected by the recent layoffs at Turbine and Irrational, or even if you're just a talented developer looking to get something off the ground, I've set up a document intended to gather like-minded people together.

The truth is, there is now a large pool of very talented, yet unemployed people in the area, and it would be a shame for Boston to lose this talent. It'd be bad for Boston, and bad for the industry as a whole. It would be a shame if a startup or three didn't rise from the ashes.

Feel free to use this document as a way to contact others, get the ball rolling, and start discussions. We'll worry about the particulars of funding later, whether it be through investors, kickstarter, or some other method. For now, let's try to get the conversations started.

Even if you're already looking elsewhere, but want to stay in the area to work with former friends and coworkers, this could be a useful resource. And who knows, it may just lead to the next big thing to come out of Boston!"

Our new monthly subscription program is live!

Rigging Dojo is proud to present our newest site feature. Our Artist in Residence program will allow subscribers a unique opportunity to follow along and interact with an industry professional. For the price of a latte per month, you’ll have access to a unique service. The Artist in Residence will share their workflows, discuss pipelines & tools, tips and tricks and answer your questions about character rigging.

There’s nothing else out there like this!

Our first Artist in Residence will be Raf Anzovin of Anzovin studio. Raf is the mastermind behind The Setup Machine and the new and impressive Anzovin Rig Tools. He’s been a long time friend and supporter of Rigging Dojo and we’re really excited and grateful to have him. Here’s an example of what Raf and the AIR program will offer.
