The AICPA and CIMA, two of the world’s largest professional accountancy bodies, have come together to establish and promote a new, internationally recognised designation for management accounting — the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
This new joint venture will provide the world’s businesses with the best professional management accounting talent to drive sustainable success.
AICPA and CIMA will leverage the collective power of more than 550,000 members and students to advance the science of management accounting, substantially benefitting their members, students and the public.
The CGMA designation will demonstrate members’ expertise in areas such as managing change, risk and uncertainty; promoting operational efficiency and effectiveness, and protecting corporate assets, helping organisations make better informed decisions.
The new designation will draw on strong codes of professional conduct and ethics, with a rigorous pathway for entry. Globally, it will rely on a groundbreaking continuing professional development model requiring ongoing assessment of competencies and access to world-class leadership resources in management accounting.
