As far as I know, Mongoose Firmware is the only firmware for ESP8266 that can talk to the AWS IoT cloud - we have managed to make the secure two-way TLS connection working. Not only that, as a result of our collaboration with Microchip and AWS IoT teams, Mongoose-driven ESP8266

If you’ve ever wanted to build your own web server, check out this tutorial Alexander Alashkin posted on Hackster.io: http://mchp.us/2g3qlLl. He used a PIC32MX MCU with our Explorer 16/32 Development Board and a Fast Ethernet PICtail™ Plus Daughter Board, along with the Mongoose Embedded Web Server and MPLAB® Harmony to get his system up and running in just five minutes.
