South receive Capitol medical-dental care for the first time #publicservice #government
Lolo Sergio, 98, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Cansaloay, a remote mountain barangay in Oslob town flaunted to his friends a handful of medicines and vitamins he received from the Cebu Provincial Capitol health staff.
He was one of the 400 individuals from Barangays Cansaloay, Can-ukban, Manlum and Canang-caan who availed the medical services at the Medical-Dental Mission held last August 11 at the barangay’s multipurpose center.
Barangay Cansaloay’s elevation is about 500 feet above sea level. The neighboring barangays are few kilometers ahead.
Although the rough and bumpy road is accessible to four-wheel vehicles, residents usually travel by a “habal-habal” which would take about 45 minutes to an hour ride from the main road.
Most of the residents had less access to basic medical care due to poor accessibility and poverty.
