Just when you think you can count on the sunshine, the British summer turns on the torrential showers to coincide with my short break in Staffordshire and Liverpool. Thankfully I have been fairy lucky dodging the rain as we met monkeys in Trentham- where…

It was a searing hot July day in Lyon when we arrived with two children in tow. Our brief few hours in the city didn't go exactly as we might have hoped.

I am a self-confessed over packer. If there’s room in my suitcase, I tend to throw things in – just in case. Despite more trips than I can count, it’s only since Minnie came along (and took up most of the luggage room) that I’ve finally started to get…
When you're mixing formal and casual, sightseeing, beach and active, it can be tricky to work out what need suitcase space. Here's what to pack for a cruise

I’ve been having one of those lovely weeks where everything seems to go right – firstly, the sun is shining (hurrah!), secondly I’ve got an unexpected last-minute trip squeezed in to August to look forward to. And thirdly, but no means less exciting, I’ve…

If you’re travelling with a toddler or pre-schooler, only the most adventurous (or foolhardy?) parent will pack five destinations into a week. Just imagine the stress of unpacking and packing, plus constantly travelling from place to place, all with a…
A cruise with kids is an unexpectedly great way to keep exploring while they're young - how else can you pack five destinations into a week with a toddler?

I’ve wanted to do a road trip along California’s Pacific Coast Highway – aka Highway 1 – for years. And once my daughter was old enough for it to be a pleasure rather than a punishment (for us), I started planning our route. And that’s where it got…

One road. Eight nights. Three cameras. 990 photos. Approximately. The Pacific Coast Highway has attractions galore, whether you’re road-tripping solo or as a family – but none more tempting than the fabulous spectacular scenery.44 Early on, I realised I’d…

Can you ever have too much travel? It’s a slightly rhetorical question given the subject of the blog, but while my heart always says ‘travel travel travel’, I’ve welcomed a quieter week at home this week. I’ve been reminiscing about some of the everyday…

My daughter’s been on a cruise. She’s been on a vintage fire truck. She’s sat on a camel – even if she got straight off. She’s been on planes galore, to the cinema and met some of the cast of Madagascar. Lucky little bunny, she is. But she’s never been to…
Can you mix kids and theatre? Heading to the open air theatre performance, one of this summer's Morden Hall Park events, to see the Jungle Book with a child

San Francisco is one of those cities which has tempted me for years – and while I didn’t exactly intend to wait until after my daughter was born, it turned out to be a fantastic place to visit as a family. For starters, it has all the big attractions you…

My earliest seaside memories are of visiting Rhyl on the north Wales coast – complete with erratic summer weather, being mildly petrified of the donkey rides and experiencing at least one sandstorm. Another trip featured a Punch and Judy show with a blue…

I can't recommend Linda highly enough - a friend told me about her after a fantastic photoshoot with her baby, and I decided to book a family session with her as well. We got so many absolutely gorgeous photos of my daughter that I had real trouble choosing my favourites afterwards, as well as some lovely shots of the three of us, and some great photos of me too (no mean feat as I hate most photos of myself!).
