When I was asked to review a private driver service, I gently pointed out that I write a family travel blog rather than a luxury one (alas). But then Blacklane pointed out that they wanted to let people know they weren’t a luxury car service but high…
Travelling home from Heathrow with a toddler needn't be a nightmare - I receive Blacklane airport transfers to discover some child-friendly luxury.

Back home after our long weekend in Amsterdam – so busy, I didn’t find time to post anything (sorry), so I thought I’d make up for it with a few personal revelations. OK, that might be overselling it a bit, but I’ve joined in with a new blogging meme…

Whoosh. Six months of 2015 seem to have flown past – but I can feel pretty smug about the fact that we are packing plenty in for our Take 12 Trips challenge (part 2). By the end of March, we’d managed eight trips and days out but hadn’t quite made it out…
Continuing the Take 12 Trips challenge - can we take 12 trips (or more) in 12 months. A new update on our second attempt at the challenge & it's going well

Almost as far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by Ancient Egypt. I remember wandering the British Museum with my mum and brother, as an enthusiastic Egyptologist told us about hieroglyphics. Even today, whenever I’m in Paris I make a beeline…

A slightly less hectic month than May but we’ve still been making the most of some of our recent travel purchases on our weekend break in Devon. Next up is Amsterdam, so I’ve switched my focus back to plane travel rather than long car journeys, and picked…

‘Mummy, I can see a rat!’ Not the kind of statement that usually gets me high fiving my daughter when we’re visiting a family attraction on our travels. On the Golden Hind in Brixham, it’s one of the quirky additions which makes this replica Elizabethan…

One of the things I miss when travelling with my daughter is staying somewhere stylish – there’s no real reason that child-friendly can’t equal chic as well but quite often a focus on the essentials means you lose the aesthetics. Thankfully that seems to…
Who says you can't combine child-friendly & chic? The Baby Blue Chip Collection includes stylish self-catering like Sunnycroft in Brixham, Devon - my review

I have never been to a flower show before today… Partly because I have whatever the opposite of green fingers are called, and for the past few years because it’s never struck me as particularly family-friendly. Toddlers and beautifully created gardens?…
Would you go to Hampton Court Flower Show with kids? I took my two-year-old to the world's largest annual flower show to discover how family-friendly it is

It’s not the trail of stickers. It’s not the little voice asking, ‘Are we nearly there yet?’. And it’s not the delighted shrieks of glee at the sight of the seaside. Nope, here are the 10 ways you know you’re travelling with a child…

I can't recommend Linda highly enough - a friend told me about her after a fantastic photoshoot with her baby, and I decided to book a family session with her as well. We got so many absolutely gorgeous photos of my daughter that I had real trouble choosing my favourites afterwards, as well as some lovely shots of the three of us, and some great photos of me too (no mean feat as I hate most photos of myself!).
