I love this!   I also got sick of making New Year's resolutions and began setting goals for the following year.  I completely agree that it is important to have an action plan and work at it a little each day.   Sometimes goals can seem so lofty that it is easy to procrastinate and wait until you can make a big dent in achieving it.   When you do a little every day it, even if it doesn't feel like much, it adds up, and before you know it I have achieved the goal without killing myself in the process!
