Life, and the post-natal period, is just not that black and white. No two women’s post-pregnancy #physical and #emotional state is alike. Throw in metabolism differences and this shakes it up even more. For someone who has a history of an eating disorder and has recently had a baby, there are even more reason to ignore tabloids and remember that each person is unique. #pregnancy

Learning to be overly self-critical about appearance can interfere with the development a healthy self-image. Social and cultural messages fueling dissatisfaction can be very strong as well, and must be discussed as a family.

Your body does not work like a sewer pipe – flushing it with liquids for 30 days with (choose the color) tea and removing entire food groups will not remove plaque from your arteries nor will it jump start your #metabolism. It, unfortunately, makes your organs work harder to filter out the items they were designed to catch because they are not getting the energy they need to function at their best. #cleanse
If the idea that sharing bad info might catapult someone into an eating disorder sounds somehow inconsequential, understand that estimates for the number of Americans with EDs is in the 15 million range, and that does not include accurate statistics for Binge Eating Disorder, the most common eating disorder affecting 3% of women and 2.5% of men.
