Hey, the right thing happened!
President Obama today used his executive authority to commute the prison term of Ceasar Cantu, a convict who otherwise would have spent an extra three and a half years behind bars thanks to a typo....

Oh, bother. Jim Cummings, the voice of Winnie the Pooh, reads Darth Vader's lines & it is fantastic.

Mozilla just named Brandon Eich CEO. Eich gave money to support Prop 8, the 2008 ban on gay marriage in California. I just uninstalled Firefox from all of my machines.

For those that say the personal position of a CEO shouldn't matter, it matters if your professional role is to provide leadership.

A CEO pick who can't effectively lead his employees, preserve the board and who creates the possibility of a boycott because of a personal position certainly matters.

"In fact, it's sibling rivalry at its evolutionary best. You see, mother and fetus have quite distinct evolutionary interests. The mother 'wants' to dedicate approximately equal resources to all her surviving children, including possible future children, and none to those who will die. The fetus 'wants' to survive, and take as much as it can get. (The quotes are to indicate that this isn't about what they consciously want, but about what evolution tends to optimize.)

"There's also a third player here – the father..."

Less than 40 characters? Really?
This post originally appeared on the Buffer blog. Every so often when I’m tweeting or emailing, I’ll think: Should I really be writing so much? I tend to get carried away. ...

We get by with a little help from our friends
Introduction
My business card says I'm a chemist.  That may or may not be what I do, but I am indeed a geek.  Other interests include food, wine, technology, animals, design, and wine.

I grew up in Hartsville, SC, and went to Clemson University for college, graduating in 2006.  I came back to Hartsville and soon started working as a technician in a lab.  I was later hired as as chemist in the an R&D Technical Services Lab.  I have two cats: Tater Tot and Murdock.  They are both fat and happy.
Bragging rights
Once staged a pudding eating contest as my talent in a mock pageant. I lost the contest and the pageant.

Exactly what it's supposed to be--great, fresh seafood from an honest proprietor. Buy fresh to take home or eat in the shop--they use a great breading and fry or grill to your specification. You can also order anything in the sea fresh-frozen or order by the case for parties. They always stock local seafood when available.
