Am I the only one who wants to know what "our father's a milner in town" is referencing?!

Thank you for doing what I was trying to do in my mind... just removing the parts that shouldn't have been there.

Should you use the F word on your blog?

If you want to hire a writer that won't screw you over, pay attention to the questions they ask!

9 times out of 10 I won't write sales copy, because 9 times out of 10 I wouldn't pay for the scam you're selling...
I wanted to write a blog about sales copy that focused on manipulation vs persuasion. I was going to reference a certain infamous movie lecture that is a classic inspiration for used car salesmen/direct response copywriters (same difference).

Yeah for self promotion, but this is a post you should share with all your colleagues who haven't realized there's no ROI in a "walmart writer".

Tired of hiring those "walmart writers"? Here's what you're doing wrong.
Unless for some reason you actually do want to waste money on “quality content” that will need to be repaired or replaced completely… grab a pen and take notes: The requirements you set forth when looking for a new writer are probably the exact reason why you keep getting screwed over. So before you post …

The quality of the food continuously decreases while the prices continue to increase. $10 for an order of wings is ridiculous, especially when they don't even do a full dozen. Worse of all is the customer service. There have been too many problems to list, but they've lost what used to be a loyal and regular customer.

**Update** I have been contacted by a representative, who has sincerely apologized for the experience and sent a gift certificate, encouraging me to give Trombley a second chance. This is a great step, showing that there is concern for quality customer service. Once I have used the certificate, I will post an updated review based on the experience. You know how we try to go to local/independent businesses for better customer service that you can trust?Ha, not with this one! When I made my appointment at Trombley in Geneva (a mechanic I DO trust recommended them) I told them the issue (something on the back drivers' side) and made the appt. for 3pm the next day. When I arrived (at 3pm) they said it would be an hour before they could take a look, so I went for a nice 2 hour walk with my son through downtown Geneva. When I returned, they hadn't done anything. He handed me an estimate of services. Not only was it 3 times what they'd quoted on the phone, but it was for service on the front end... nothing about the back. They hadn't even looked at the back end, which is what I was there for! When I brought that up, he went over and added $200 to my estimate. I left and went to a chain tire store in Canandaigua, who fixed the problem (in the back end) for under $100 AND confirmed my suspicion that there was nothing wrong in the front.I may be a single mom who obviously knows nothing about car stuff, but I do know a scammer when I see one.

This is my 3rd favorite pizza place in the area. I have to drive to pick up (they don't deliver where I live) so I can only really rate them based on taste, which gets my approval. Customer service... well, what do you expect from a pizza place?! Nothing above-and-beyond, but not terrible either. Some cashiers are friendlier and more conversational than others.

I've stayed at Hope Lake Lodge twice and loved it both times. The first time I stayed for nearly a week and it was a family vacation with 2 young children (5 and 3 at the time) and a 15 year old. There was literally something for everyone. The indoor water park is fairly small, but provides hours of fun and then there is an arcade too. So I went back a few weeks ago to treat a friend and 3 more of her bridesmaids to a bridal party getaway. Once again, everyone had a good time. Some things did change however, and I overheard other guests complaining that the indoor waterpark is now an additional $30+/person, per day. Sure, it was included before, but now the room rates are so much lower so it really doesn't make a difference. If you don't go to the waterpark every day, you save more money to use at the bar or in the spa. Anyways, the rooms are big and gorgeous. From the moment you arrive it feels like a true escape into another world (like any vacation should). Everybody is very warm and hospitable, all in all I'm sure this place will exceed every expectation you have for your next vacation. And the zip lines at the Adventure Center were a lot of fun! I can't wait to go back again!

I have had to work with this HVAC company several times over the past few years, because they are the only company I can work with for the central air unit brand (Tappan) which was installed, by this company, before I bought my house in 2010. I think it's safe to say I've had to call Interstate for work every winter, and at least one summer, for different problems with the unit, which is covered under the 10 year warranty. This summer the air conditioner didn't work. It took about 2 months before the new part came in, which was awfully convenient as the freon leaked out during this time so I was slammed with a $250 bill to refill the coolant. To me, personally, this seemed a bit shady and I'd gladly call another company like Halco if it were an option. Unfortunately, it isn;t. So now as it's getting cold out, I discovered the heat isn't working (again), and was charged $100 for somebody to tell me that I need a new heat exchange. Another part failure, of course... so I'm definitely not a fan of the Tappan brand either at this point. Thank god for warranties though, right? Nope. Interstate just notified me that I have to pay about $1000 for the new part, even though there's a warranty. The company (Tappan) may deny covering the part under warranty because of all the work done over the last few years (again, all part failures.) I would say that my biggest gripe is with the Tappan brand, but it isn't. I've found Interstate to have VERY poor customer service, and they are an embodiment of the shady stereotype you worry about with a service provider who tries to nickel and dime you. I do not recommend this company at all, and if you need to get a new furnace or air conditioning system installed... go somewhere else.

Blue Ribbon Smoke House is the Phelps Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for September 2012, and it's my job to do transport the sign and do an interview to write the article/press release. I really enjoyed this one, because I arrived early for our interview and ordered the Eggs Benedict, a favorite breakfast of mine that the kids won't eat so I I never get to make it at home. Surprisingly, the Eggs Benedict were very affordable AND delicious. So I went back with the kids and ordered some of the famous smoked meat for lunch a few days later, the kids went for the chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was delicious (yes, I tried the kids' pancakes too!) and it all feels home made. The atmosphere feels like a diner, full of locals and regulars who make this place their second home and I can see why. They are cash only, but the prices are affordable and the food is amazing... must try!
