Currently, Carter Mason is CEO and Co-Founder of JTS.TV - Just The Story, a premium digital tv network founded to bring a better, ad-free experience for viewers while providing a sustainable financial model for content creators.
When Carter moved to Southern California in 1997, acting and writing for television and film was the last thing on his mind. He soon became enthralled with the power of story to convey meaning and truth. This led to an acting class and a role that would forever change his life.
Playing retired professor Serebryakov in Mamet's adaptation of Uncle Vanya, Carter fell in love with the craft of acting. Having long tried to drive out self-centered arrogance, playing the narcissistic professor forced him to face his own inner demons. The personal benefit paired with the power of the story launched Carter on a new career.Carter has appeared on shows on Lifetime, The Discovery Channel, DHC, and other cable networks. Additionally, he has worked on over 20 short and feature films as well as indepenedent tv series productions.
He wrote, directed, and produced the short film, "Ties That Bind," which will soon be running the festival circuit. His film (written and produced), "Do Unto Others" is currently being submitted to festivals for consideration.
Carter funds his projects through his business, Carter Mason Group, which provides legal and business consulting services, specializing in the entertainment industry.
