I submitted an official complaint to the BBB regarding Peggy's Bridal, which is currently being processed. However, here is the same information regarding my concern. A gown purchased at Peggy's for a Mother of the Bride arrived later than initially indicated and was not altered to satisfaction. The seamstress did not remove a large thread leftover from a bow that came attached and was then removed as part of the alteration. In addition, the measurements were significantly wrong for the body. For example, the special belt added to the dress was measured by the Mother of the Bride to be six inches too long (too big) around the waist after it was supposedly altered to fit. In contrast, the bust and torso were altered too small. The zipper barely zips. I submitted photos of this evidence to Peggy's facebook email for their reference, and followed up with a phone call. I will be happy to share these photos publicly so potential customers may also see the poor quality of the work, should you have a concern of your own. The customer service by Peggy's has been described as "abrasive," "uncooperative," "unhelpful" and "rude" by the Mother of the Bride and the Father of the Bride today as they attempted to resolve the alterations errors over the phone from the wedding city (out of New York state). In conclusion: unsatisfactory service, lack of attention to detail, and poor alterations. The quality of the dress was fine until the alterations process began. The initial appeal of the store was very good to the Bride's family. When it came down to results, though, I do not recommend Peggy's.
