NEW ARZone interview with author and justice advocate, Saryta Rodriguez.

In this NEW ARZone interview, we speak with advocate and author, Saryta Rodriguez. Saryta, who is committed to social justice activism, spoke with us about her new book, Until Every Animal is Free, about current issues in the movement, including "reducetarianism" and humane-washing, and her own ideas about how to bring about meaningful and lasting change in the lives of other-than-human animals.

Excellent article from Psychologist, Casey Taft, on the corruption and misuse of terms such as "effective" in regard to animal #advocacy

Nowadays you will see the term “effective” thrown around a lot in animal advocacy circles. Professor of Psychiatry, Casey Taft examines the dangers of misusing this term, and why we should be aware of the term being co-opted by reducetarian advocates.

Several recent biased studies have been released to promote the view that we shouldn't be asking others to go vegan, but rather to simply reduce their animal use. This article discusses specific examples of dangerous pseudoscience to bring this issue to light.

[T]he thing that became abundantly clear to us when we met with the experts who are working in nutrition and energy sustainability and climate change is that we can’t actually meet our emission goals if we don’t address animal agriculture, and that’s the thing that’s been left out of the conversation.

Animal rights philosopher, and "one of fifty visionaries who are changing the world" (Utne Reader), Professor Tom Regan delivered this inspirational keynote address to a rally in Los Angeles in April 1988. Tom's speech, titled "The Sword of Justice, The Torch of Reason", is still considered by many to be "The greatest animal rights speech ever given".

It is no longer an issue of "overfishing" - it is an issue of fishing.

Dr. Richard Oppenlander explains how our continued choice to eat sea animals has cascading effects on other sea life. We are taking the food supply away from other animals in the oceans - which is killing those animals and destroying the oceans. It is no longer an issue of "overfishing" - it is an issue of fishing.

"We don’t need glass walls, and it wouldn’t matter if slaughterhouses had them. We just need to open our eyes, look and then act to make things better. Even more importantly, we need to stop acting in ways which so clearly make things worse. Everybody should be able to see that".

Prof. Tom Regan interviewed by Pat Kenny, and taking questions from a somewhat hostile audience on the Late Late Show. As always, Prof. Regan is the epitome of class and dignity in representing animal advocates as peaceful, rational and thoughtful humans.

A very good short video about the oceans and those who rely on the oceans for life, and how they are both being killed right before our eyes - fishes and others in the trillions every year.
