For human beings of all ages, technology inspires fear and anxiety. Cari Romm quotes Christopher Bader in her article for The Atlantic, “Americans Are More Afraid of Robots Than Death” (October, 2015). “’People tend to express the highest level of fear for things they’re dependent on but that they don’t have any control over, and …

In my recent article for NTEN, I suggest nonprofit staff take a deeper dive into Microsoft software - Word, PP, Excel and Access - and take more of their major gift campaigns in-house. I've run multi-million dollar campaigns with only these platforms.

Be your own executive secretary. DIY! As I have worked in remote locations with little or no staff, I've had to "make do" and to do, "more with less." It can be done, and millions can be raised. Just don't get overwhelmed by lots of "zeros," and the perceived need for consultant "coaching."

Sharing my friend Vickie's top notch educational program focusing on Microsoft products. She is an excellent teacher, she is based in Austin, but she travels the world teaching.

A group of Austin tech leaders, many of whom supported Uber’s and Lyft’s Proposition 1, Monday unveiled RideAustin, an Austin-only, nonprofit ride-hailing service that they say will launch by mid-June and will fully comply with the city ordinance that was at the center of May 7 vote on Proposition 1.

Through the creation of the 2016 Limited Edition bottle, a portion of the bottle proceeds will benefit programming for Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), a charitable partner of the Wrangler® National Patriot™ program. Founded in 1946, Paralyzed Veterans of America is now the nation’s leading advocate for paralyzed servicemen and women in the United States. PVA works to ensure veterans receive the benefits earned from their military service through spinal cord injury research funding, advocacy, job placement, recreational rehabilitation services, health care and adaptive sports programming.
