I’m not really one to make dips all that much, I think partly as I wasn’t particularly brought up with them. I do still like some, but I think I always find it a bit annoying having to stretch over to get another handful or having to hover at the…

Unless you are Scottish, or know someone who is, I appreciate you probably don’t have a clue what the title of this post means. Don’t worry, I will explain all. But if you want a short summary, cranachan is a delicious, easy and boozy dessert and it fits…

An easy, flavorful sauce for pasta/gnocchi

I think most of the country has had a cold spell of some sort recently. Much as I love snow and winter in general, some of the temperatures we have had are colder than even we like to cope with. It was kind of a shame when it snowed last weekend, the kids…

I know some people view January as a month to detox and get over all the festivities that have just ended. But for some people, there are still festivities to come such as the Chinese New Year, which is January 28th this year. The foods eaten for Chinese…

Making tasty food for all the family (that's generally good for you, too)
Introduction
Caroline's Cooking is a blog that aims to share recipes that we have enjoyed as a family, using some of the best ingredients we can find locally, with some international inspiration as well, with the hope that you can enjoy them too.

We grow a few things in our small city garden, get vegetables and meat delivered through local schemes, and use these as a basis to enjoy some great-tasting food that is generally pretty good for you. While most things are prepared from scratch, this isn't cooking that is going to take forever to make. Well, maybe now and again for something special but the plan is to be realistic about how long we all have, and build in ideas for using leftovers in a different way, making lunch boxes and whatever else comes to mind. Oh, and feeding a toddler the same food or with minimal adaptations.
