now its too late fools i could have told you i sound like an old jew  i just may be first Katzins on houston even with all the new hippsters bizz now here in L.A. I tryed a place in glendale problem was the bread. How do you wantit?! On rye ! But the rye bread was SLICED  and soft like a sponge of mexican BIMBO well they dont know bread from shingles they eat great tortillas they do but how  do you politely try to say your pastrami is great but who hired the buyer? You cant use thin suppermarket bread for a 1/3rd pond of pastrami need hard jewish made rye! even better black bread, rusian  black bread, for the health food nuts your never guess, its the bran! and really ?Even in Beverly hills i was asked to speak spanish by a hostess she said i was too quiet. Oh my god did i speak spanish I told her what a moron she was and hell learn english proper english.wont bite.   Problem is Shaw or Burns  there is some thing that gets lost in translation there is no other language for rock and roll either Cervantes said" A translation is like seeing the back of a 1550 tapestry you see the image no colors nor details " that was in 1550s . "Well You cant always get what you want" some times you have to settle for tortillas for the pastrami or better bake your own rye !

At this old-school deli, diners fill up on pastrami, corned beef, matzoh balls & other staples.- Google
"I have been to many high end restaurants with great service and food ."
"We ordered the beef stroganoff, the salmon, the chicken kiev and the pork chop."

First time in New York and was checking out places that I have heard about. I wanted to go here because of the reputation. And, I was in the mood for Corned Beef. We waited in line about 25 minutes before getting seated. Service was not extremely fast but considering the number of people in the place I think it was good. The pickles that they bring out are exceptional. I would have like to have had more of them. The Pastrami sandwich was huge (but I ate it all). Potato salad was okay - and the cheesecake for desert was very good - and a huge slice. The only problem I had was the price. $75 for 2 people to have lunch. Pastrami Sandwiches $19.99 each, potato salad $5 each, Ice tea $4, Lemonade $3, one slice of strawberry cheesecake $11.99, But with the deli's reputation, location and fame - I should have expected that. :-) Since they are closing I am really glad I got the opportunity to eat here at least once.

My favorite cultural venue in NYC. Most of the best classical music concerts are held in this historical hall. The architecture is beautiful and the management is great. Seating is very organized. Events are amazingly very well chosen. Definitely a must visit if you're into classical orchestral music.

This place is closing December 31st. I got the corn beef in rye which was about 2 inches high of just meet. The sandwich was amazing but holy crap was it expensive. $20 for meet on bread, granted it was a big sandwich but I don't think $20 big. Despite being way over priced I still recommend trying to get there before they are closed.

Definitely a place to experience! We grabbed ours to-go and dined in Central park. We shared sandwiches and still had plenty of leftovers. Two kinds of pickle are included (my favorite is the bright green one). In my opinion, Katz's Deli is MUCH better, but if you are in the area and have an extra $30-$40, you won't walk away hungry. If you plan to dine-in, expect a long wait.

This place was worth the wait. We waited in line for an hour and a half because their New York location will be closing towards the end of the year. Once inside our food came fast and service was attentive. The Reuben with pastrami was delicious and can be shared with 2 or three people it is so large. Make sure to leave a space in your stomach for dessert ! Tip: if you don't want to wait in line , you can order take out in the line to the right.

Soooo, I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. I remembered wanting to go and decided to book a spot online. Just a 9:30pm reservation time on a Monday? Damn this place gets packed. I wanted to check it out with my mom and sister and hoped they'd be okay with such a late dinner. We arrive and it's already so packed! There are carts that have some food on it (dim sum style), and you can choose if you want what is on the cart. We were seated and were greeted by an eclectic waiter. He explained that half of the items are on the menu and are to be ordered and the other half come around in carts. Not 5 minutes pass and we are approached by a cart. It begins lol. We get the smoked trout chips and dip--phenomenal (5/5)! It had smoked trout, avocados, and a caper/herb sauce with potato chips. This was so good! My sister doesn't really like seafood and she really enjoyed this dish. We were already in happy town!

Overrated! Wait staff wasn't the friendliest (typical NY attitudes haha). Waited 2 hours to get in. Food was great as always! The place closing seems like a marketing scam though.

Shame this place is closing. I am sure there are better delis, but the food here was really good and epic portions. Try the cheesecake!
