Carlos Gil is the Global Senior Social Marketing Manager for LinkedIn, Sales Solutions. Carlos transformational journey to LinkedIn has included leading digital and social marketing programs for retail and CPG brands including: PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Frito Lay, Tostitos, Mondelez, Unilever, Franks RedHot. Previously, Carlos developed strategy and led the launch for all of Winn-Dixie’s social media channels, social listening, and blogger influencer program yielding exceptional consumer engagement and brand awareness. Most recently, and prior to LinkedIn, Carlos served as the Head of Digital and Social Media for Save-A-Lot food stores, a wholly owned subsidiary of SUPERVALU INC., a Fortune 100 company and one of the largest companies in the United States grocery channel.
In addition, Carlos is a recognizable social media thought leader and speaker who has been invited to speak at Social Media Marketing World, Internet Retail Conference and Expo, Social Media Strategies Summit, amongst other industry events.
Leveraging strong entrepreneurial acumen, Carlos founded JobsDirectUSA.com in 2008 as a direct result of a layoff in the banking and financial services industry. Through social media, specifically using LinkedIn, Carlos increased brand awareness for his start-up and organically built a database of 100,000+ career professionals and hiring companies.
Carlos has been featured by CNNMoney.com, and other news media, in addition to being recognized by Fast Company Magazine in 2010 amongst the Top 50 “Most Influential People Online”.
