If you are still unsure about why Snapchat has become such a force in the last 6 months, here’s a few reasons:

1. It’s unique 24-hour content lifespan creates a sense of urgency, engagement and consumption which no other social network provides
2. Hundreds of brands such as: Coca-Cola, Taco Bell, Forbes, and MGM Resorts are all in
3. 77% of Snapchat users in the U.S. are 18 – 55+ years old – contrary to popular believe Snapchat isn’t a social network for teens
4. 200 million active monthly users & 8 billion daily video views
5. Engagement + attention + relationships = conversions

Personally, in the last 18 months of using Snapchat I have seen my social presence reach new heights. I’ve been offered paid speaking opportunities, jobs and most importantly grown relationships with key individuals in my industry via Snapchat.

Snapchat isn’t a fluke, it’s not MySpace, in fact it’s in a league of its own.
I believe in this platform just like I believed in LinkedIn in 2008, Twitter in 2009, and Facebook in 2010.

If you are using social media in your business and NOT on Snapchat, here’s the #1 reason why you need to pay attention…

More than 60% of smartphone users in the U.S. age 13 to 34 are on Snapchat, this demographic is expected to outspend Baby Boomers by 2017 – that’s less than 9 months from now.

If you missed out on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, DON’T miss out on Snapchat – you will regret it if you do.

My goal is not to help you monetize Snapchat but rather help you understand how it works, it’s set of tools & features, and teach you everything that I’ve learned over 3+ years of being on the platform.

P.S. ~ I’ll be speaking about Snapchat for Business at this years Social Media Marketing World, I hope you can join me in San Diego!

One of my goals in 2016 is to provide value to my social network through education. If I can teach others about things like social media marketing, personal branding, help someone find a job or discover their passion then we all win. The first question came from a follower on Snapchat who asked: What is it that you did to get where you are at today and what steps did you have to take to get to this point?

Hoping that the message behind this video touches at least one person out there. There’s no monetary value that you can associate with relationships, they are priceless. As long as you’re constantly adding value to relationships you will never be out of work or be hungry. When you’re at your lowest point you will work the hardest and pay your dues – I promise you that. Don’t ever forget what got you there or the people who had your back along the way. There will always be haters and those who envy you. Smile back at them and block them out. You control your destiny, not them. My hustle is my hustle for a reason. How you feel is how you are. Your mind is your greatest asset. Mind over matter. Money will come and go, don’t be driven by it. Instead, let opportunity drive you in all that you do. Learn from the struggles and turn them into triumph. If something doesn’t work out, it wasn’t meant to be. There’s no such thing as failure. Learn from situations and keep moving forward. Competition is only a mindset, there’s no such thing as competition because the only person that you should be competing with is yourself. Have faith in God, He rules everything. You’re just living out the life that you were destined to live. Real talk and Happy New Year 2016.
