I've received quite the number of friend requests from many 12s/Seahawks fans, as of late. Welcome, if you're a recent addition! For those that don't know, the one question I get a lot would be, "who's #13?"

There is a 13 that's within the Seahawks organization: Cyril Grayson, wide receiver, a reserve. For me, though, 13 has some meaning to me. 2013 was a year for major changes for me. I was still living in Arkansas up until around the middle of July of the same year. I wasn't a Seahawk fan at all, and I didn't really follow football much. I liked the Dallas Cowboys for a short time in the 1990s.

It was the 2013 season (mainly during the postseason in early 2014) that I began to follow the Seahawks. I saw the second half of the game vs the 49ers on TV at Northgate Mall with the Seahawks advancing to the Super Bowl and end up winning that later. It was really cool to be new to a city and see them win a championship.

It wasn't until late 2016 that I actually took part at Seahawks events. I went to a few Blue Friday rallies at some Top Pot Doughnuts locations and went to a Sea Gals auction event. My first NFL game experience was on December 15, 2016 vs. the Los Angeles Rams, which Seattle won by a significant margin. So, before my first game, I went with purchasing a Seahawks jersey with home colours and wanted a number 13 with my surname on it. So, yeah, 13 is significant to me with 2013 ('13) being a big year.

Since my first game, I went to the wild card game vs. the Lions, did the 12K run twice, attended Richard Sherman's dinner/auction event, went to all Seahawks home games last year, attended the Seahawks training camp, joined a chapter with the Sea Hawkers Booster Club, Marcus Trufant's Bowling & Billiard Classic, Kick Hunger Challenge, went to a Draft Day party, went to more rallies, and recently did my first Seahawks volunteering event with Russell Wilson's Passing Academy in Tukwila.

I can definitely say I've experienced a lot in almost five years in the Pacific Northwest, certainly feels like I've done way more things in that amount of time than I have the 30+ years I lived in the South. Grateful for all the people I've befriended since I moved to Seattle for all the great things I've got to experience.

Go Hawks!
